The disease caused by the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus (COVID-19) spread rapidly from China to the entire world. Approximately one third of SARS-CoV-2-infected patients have neurological disorders, especially those classified as severe cases and that require mechanical ventilation. ⋯ So far, whether early neurological disorders such as hyposmia or anosmia, dysgeusia or ageusia, headache and vertigo are significant in the progression to the severe form of the disease or whether they are related to entry to the central nervous system via peripheral nerves has not been determined. Considering the great similarity between SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2, and that the severity of the condition that leads to death cannot be explained solely by lung involvement, it is important to determine whether SARS-CoV-2 potential invasion to the central nervous system is partially responsible for the severe respiratory component observed in patients with COVID-19.

Natural killer cell reconstitution after hematopoietic stem-cell transplantation in children.
After hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), natural killer (NK) cells reconstitution is the main barrier against viral infections. ⋯ The first period of NK cell recovery occurs between three and six months after transplantation. Reconstitution is transient and the number of NK cells varies in the first years.

A literature review on desmoid tumors was carried out, which are tumors that affect soft tissues with a locally aggressive behavior and are unable to metastasize. Sporadic cases are located on the extremities and chest wall; hereditary cases have an intra-abdominal predilection, and those associated with pregnancy occur on the abdominal wall. Imaging techniques assess disease extension. ⋯ Radiation therapy can play a therapeutic or adjuvant role. Advances in the understanding of the disease have allowed establishing better targeted treatments with lower morbidity; however, there are still unanswered questions regarding the choice of the ideal candidate for surveillance and/or early treatment. Data related to quality of life are also presented, as well as the uncertainty generated by this diagnosis for both doctor and patient.

The development and marketing of biosimilars opens a new scenario in the treatment of many pathologies, including psoriasis. This article reflects the position of the Mexican Academy of Dermatology (AMD) on the use of biosimilar medicines for the treatment of psoriasis in Mexico. ⋯ It is essential to establish a close pharmacovigilance not only to guarantee compliance with the Cofepris rules in Mexico, but also to facilitate the effective monitoring of the adverse effects of biosimilar medicines. Although the goal of biotechnological drugs is to achieve substantial savings for patients and public institutions, no economic criteria should prevail over rigorous scientific criteria that guarantee maximum therapeutic efficacy and optimum safety for patients.

From the first report of the respiratory disease caused by SARS-Cov-2 towards the end of 2019, in Wuhan, China, to June 8, 2020, 6,931,000 people had been affected in the world, and 113,619 in Mexico, where there is a lack of literature describing the tomographic behavior of this disease throughout its evolution and its correlation with patient clinical data. ⋯ Knowing the behavior of this type of pneumonia allows becoming familiarized with the characteristic tomographic patterns, in order to aid timely detection and treatment.
