Outlet-type VSD is frequently associated with aortic valve prolapse that surgery is frequently required. The literature regarding outcomes of transcatheter closure of outlet-type VSDs is scant. This study was conducted to know the safety and efficacy of transcatheter closure of outlet-type ventricular septal defects (VSDs) with Amplatzer Duct Occluder II (ADO II). ⋯ Transcatheter closure of outlet-type VSDs with ADO II is feasible. Although no significant aggravation of AR was observed in the short-to-mid-term follow-up, long-term follow-up is mandatory.

Leukemia cutis (LC), by definition, is the infiltration of neoplastic leukocytes in the skin. The overall incidence of LC is rare. We aimed to investigate the association between clinical characteristics, classifications and prognosis among different types of LC in Taiwan. ⋯ This study was the first large-scale research in regarding to LC of Han Chinese. The commonest clinical presentations were papules and nodules, and the predilection sites were trunk and extremities. Besides, there was the high frequency of LC from AML and MDS in Taiwan. Clinicians should pay more attention to the leukemia patients with extramedullary manifestations due to poor survival outcomes.

To better understand population-specific tumor characteristics and behavior of conjunctival melanoma in Asian. ⋯ Different tumor characteristics were found in this cohort. Higher metastasis and mortality rate could suggest a more aggressive disease pattern. Tumor thickness was indicated as a prognostic factor for survival time and was greater in size in cases with distant metastasis. Early and more invasive intervention with closely follow-up may be indicated in these cases.

The biochemical response is a crucial indicator of prognosis in chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients treated with nucleotide/nucleoside analogues (NAs). The impact of hepatitis D virus (HDV) infection on alanine aminotransferase normalization is elusive. ⋯ HDV infection played an important role in ALT abnormality in CHB patients receiving 1-year and 2-year NAs. The impact was particularly noted in patients who had successfully suppressed HBV DNA.

Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) is a life-threatening disease associated with rapid clinical deterioration and the need for intensive care; therefore, it is essential to identify clinical parameters related to mortality and establish prognostic factors correlated with unfavorable outcome in high risk patients whose treatment may fail. ⋯ MA-HLH had the lowest mortality rate, as most children died from the underlying malignant disease and not from HLH. Impaired liver and renal functions were related to mortality. Prolonged aPTT > 44.35 s is a strong predictive factor for mortality.
