We report the case of a 76-year-old man who was diagnosed with advanced stage hepatocellular carcinoma and was treated with atezolizumab plus bevacizumab therapy. Two weeks after 1st dose, he presented with acute changes in consciousness followed by hypothermia. A cerebrospinal fluid test showed an elevated cell count, total protein, and albumin. ⋯ Based on the findings, atezolizumab-induced encephalitis was suspected, and high dose steroid therapy was administered. The patient's conscious level and hypothermia recovered completely about 9 days after starting the steroids, and he recovered without any neurological sequelae. This case report reminds physicians that prompt administration of steroid treatment after early diagnosis of immune checkpoint inhibitor-related encephalitis is the key for patients to recover without apparent neurological sequelae.

To investigate the treatment outcome, visual outcome, and adverse effects of five-fraction stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) to medium- and large-sized uveal melanoma with a non-invasive eye immobilization device. ⋯ SRS combined with a non-invasive eye immobilization device is an effective and safe alternative eye-preserving treatment for medium- to large-sized uveal melanoma. BCVA at 3 months may be a predictor for BCVA at 1 year.

Pediatric glomerulopathy after COVID-19 vaccination: A case series and review of the literature.
Cases of glomerulopathy after COVID-19 vaccination have been reported in the adult population, while only a few cases have been reported in children and adolescents. For better understanding of this association in pediatric population, we aimed to describe clinical course of patients with glomerulopathy within 60 days of COVID-19 vaccination who were under followed up in the pediatric nephrology department of National Taiwan University Children's Hospital. ⋯ This is the largest case series to date of pediatric glomerulopathy after COVID-19 vaccination. From our report, patients with either newly diagnosed or relapse of glomerulopathy after vaccination had good outcomes, and receiving vaccination to prevent COVID-19 infection or complications should be encouraged in pandemic era under close monitoring kidney manifestations.

Gene therapy for hemophilia has been investigated for decades but no breakthroughs were made until Nathwani et al. achieved a significant and sustainable factor IX increase in hemophilia B patients in 2011. About eleven years later, in August 2022, the first hemophilia A gene therapy product was approved by the European Commission and hemophilia treatment entered a new era. This review does not focus on the newest advances but rather the practical aspects of gene therapy aiming to provide an overview for physicians who treat hemophiliacs who did not participate in the clinical trials. ⋯ In its current form, gene therapy will not replace all hemophilia treatments. Advances in non-factor therapy will also improve hemophilia care greatly in the future. We envisage that gene therapy may be included in multiple novel therapies for hemophilia and benefit some hemophilia patients while novel non-factor therapies may benefit others, together fulfilling the unmet needs of all hemophilia patients.
