To compare the efficacy of 0.05% cyclosporine A (CsA) eye drops (II) and 3% Diquafosol ophthalmic solution (DQS) in the treatment of dry eye (DE) after cataract surgery (CS). ⋯ Compared to the conventional treatment alone, the addition of 3% DQS or 0.05% CsA eye drops (II) to the conventional treatment both are effective and might more effectively alleviate DE in patients undergoing CS.

The objective of the current review aimed to assess if patients with bipolar disorder (BD) have an increased risk of stroke. ⋯ Patients with bipolar disorder (BD) may have an increased risk of stroke in comparison to the general population. The results are limited by the retrospective nature of the data and high inter-study heterogeneity which demand caution in the interpretation of the outcomes. To assess the efficacy of combined tympanostomy tube insertion (TTI) and adenoidectomy (Ad) versus Ad alone in the treatment of otitis media with effusion (OME) in children. ⋯ Compared to Ad alone, combined TTI+Ad treatment is equally safe and more effective in the treatment of OME in children. This surgical approach is associated with reduced local inflammatory reactions and lower recurrence rate.

This study was aimed to elucidate the prevalence-pattern of congenital and hereditary anomalies (CA) in the population of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), which is a logistically difficult area in the north-east of Pakistan and in the foot-hills of Himalayas. ⋯ Majority of the anomalies observed in this cohort are of severe nature rendering high morbidity burden on the population and require early detection, intervention and management.

Self-care practices are integral part of heart failure (HF) management. Information-Motivation-Behavioral skills (IMB) model has shown promise in fostering better self-care behaviors, but its efficacy in management of HF patients remains underexplored. This retrospective study investigated the value of IMB model-based nursing intervention for improving self-care, hemodynamic indicators, and quality of life (QOL) of HF patients. ⋯ IMB model-based nursing intervention significantly improved self-care behavior, QOL, and hemodynamic parameters in HF patients. This mode of nursing care has a potential as a valuable strategy for enhancing HF management.
