A mentor-mentee relationship, also known as a mentoring relationship, is a professional or personal partnership in which a more experienced or knowledgeable individual (the mentor) provides guidance, support, and advice to a less experienced or knowledgeable individual (the mentee). The primary purpose of this relationship is to facilitate the mentee's personal and professional growth. ⋯ In this qualitative exploratory study 10 mentees were interviewed and analysis was done based on their answers to find out the strengthening factors of a mentor-mentee relationship particularly focusing on the qualities and traits required to build trust. The results of this research indicate that trust among mentors and mentees could be developed by respect, confidentiality, empathy, humbleness, hard work and good communication from both sides.

The objective of the current review aimed to assess if patients with bipolar disorder (BD) have an increased risk of stroke. ⋯ Patients with bipolar disorder (BD) may have an increased risk of stroke in comparison to the general population. The results are limited by the retrospective nature of the data and high inter-study heterogeneity which demand caution in the interpretation of the outcomes. To compare correction of kyphotic deformity (KD) and implant failure (IF) in percutaneous short-segment pedicle screws fixation (SSPF) with index level versus long-segment pedicle screws fixation (LSPF) without index level for traumatic thoracolumbar (TL) fractures. ⋯ For a single level traumatic TL fracture, SSPF with index level can preserve Cobb's angle better than LSPF without index level, and it has high IF stability.

Scattered white spots (SWS) seen in the duodenum during esophagogastroduodenoscopy are rare lesions. The histopathologic examination of SWS lesions reveals normal duodenal mucosa (ND), chronic nonspecific duodenitis, and intestinal lymphangiectasia (IL). The intestinal epithelium, through its barrier function, is responsible for tightly controlling antigen traffic from the intestinal lumen to the submucosa. Zonulin plays a crucial role in intestinal barrier function. In this study, we aimed to determine whether there is a relationship between zonulin, the most important marker of leaky gut syndrome, and SWS lesions associated with lymphatic stasis and inflammation in the duodenum. ⋯ Patients with identified SWS more frequently exhibit IL and gastric metaplasia. There is no relationship between SWS and serum zonulin levels.

The objective of the study was to assess the efficacy and safety profile of 2nd line Anti TB drugs in DR TB patients in a tertiary care hospital of South Punjab. ⋯ The study findings suggest the efficacy of second-line anti-TB drug regimens in achieving sputum smear conversion and positive treatment outcomes in patients with MDR-TB. However, the occurrence of ADRs highlights the need for careful monitoring and management during treatment.
