Adherence to Treatment and Glycemic Control in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: A 4-Year Follow-up PTM Bogor Cohort Study, Indonesia.
Large-scale evaluation of the treatment adherence in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) in Indonesian is limited. We aim to evaluate the treatment adherence of Indonesian type 2 DM patients using national "big data" and investigate its association with glycemic parameters. ⋯ There were less than half as many treated patients as untreated patients involved in the PTM Bogor Study Group. At the fourth-year follow-up, treated patients experienced three times more significant decreases in FBG and PPBG than those who were untreated, even after being controlled by several confounding factors. Given the importance of these findings, it is suggested that immediate strategic action be taken to improve Indonesian patients' adherence to treatment.

Validation of the Spanish Version of the VERITAS-PRN Scale to Assess Adherence to on Demand Regimens in Patients with Hemophilia.
The episodic or on-demand administration of clotting factor concentrates in hemophilia patients in the event of hemorrhage is employed to restore hemostasis. Adherence to on-demand treatments needs to be assessed in order to improve patient management, avoiding adverse effects and serious clinical complications. ⋯ The Spanish version of VERITAS-PRN has high consistency and empirical validity. This scale is useful for assessing the degree of adherence to treatment in adult patients with hemophilia following episodic infusion treatment.

Changes in Beliefs About Post-Transplant Immunosuppressants Over Time and Its Relation to Medication Adherence and Kidney Graft Dysfunction: A Follow-Up Study.
The main aim was to evaluate the changes in beliefs about immunosuppressants over a 3-year period in patients after kidney transplantation. The second aim was to investigate the relationship between beliefs, medication adherence, and selected clinical outcomes such as graft functioning. ⋯ Higher treatment necessity beliefs corresponded with better kidney functioning, whereas higher treatment concerns were related to non-adherence to immunosuppressants at the beginning of the observed period. Still, most patients accepted their medicines that do not come without risk. Nevertheless, decreasing treatment necessity beliefs on one hand, and increasing treatment concerns on the other, should be considered in clinical practice.

Thus, to improve older adults' quality of life, more attention should be paid to enhancing non-medical factors such as their health-related perceptions.
