To determine the relative frequency and rank of oral cancer (OC) and pharyngeal cancer (PC) among Yemeni cancer patients who were treated and registered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) over 14 years, and to characterize these patients by different grouping factors. ⋯ The relative frequencies of oral and pharyngeal cancers in Yemen are quite high. The demographic and tumor characteristics of these cancers are obviously different.

To evaluate the risk factors and physician's compliance to American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP) guidelines recommendations for venous thromboembolism (VTE) prevention at our hospital. ⋯ This study demonstrates that only a small proportion of eligible patients received the recommended VTE prophylaxis. Efforts should be made to develop strategies to improve patient safety practices.
