To determine the relation among the risk of falls, geriatric assessment, and anthropometric measurements, including the mini mental state examination, geriatric depression scale, handgrip test, and key pinch test. ⋯ The mini mental test, geriatric depression scale and lawton-brody scale combined with the handgrip, 6-meters walking, and bioimpedance tests are favorable for detecting the risk of falls and recurrent falls in vulnerable elderly nursing home residents.

To investigate and establish the relationship between the use of statin therapy and the risk of development of diabetes. ⋯ Statin therapy can slightly increase risk of incident diabetes in subjects with hypercholesterolemia.

To assist healthcare providers in evidence-based clinical decision-making for the management of overweight and obese adults in Saudi Arabia. ⋯ The current guideline includes recommendation for the non-pharmacological, pharmacological, and surgical management of overweight and obese adults. In addition, the panel recommends conducting research priorities regarding lifestyle interventions and economic analysis of drug therapy within the Saudi context, as well as long term benefits and harms of bariatric surgery.
