A major advantage of ultrasound (US) has been reduction in the amount of local anaesthetic (LA) needed for successful blocks. Reduced LA requirement reduces the risk of LA toxicity when multiple blocks are to be done for surgery of more than one extremity in the same patient. The 38-year-old female was scheduled for elective surgery of polydactilia in her right foot and syndactili in her right hand. ⋯ Surgery was performed uneventfully on both extremities. This is the first case report in the literature in which multiple blocks were applied to two different extremities, the leg and arm. In conclusion, our case report is a good example of multiple blocks in different extremities being performed successfully and safely according to US guidance and using low doses of local anaesthetics.

The effects of sufentanil added to low-dose hyperbaric bupivacaine in unilateral spinal anaesthesia for outpatients undergoing knee arthroscopy.
The aim of this study is to examine the effects of sufentanil added to low-dose hyperbaric bupivacaine in unilateral spinal anaesthesia for outpatients undergoing knee arthroscopy. ⋯ All patients were successfully given unilateral spinal anaesthesia with sufentanil added to low-dose hyperbaric bupivacaine for an outpatient knee arthroscopy, without affecting the time of discharge. However, for one-day interventions such as arthroscopy, it was concluded that administration of only low-dose hyperbaric bupivacaine was sufficient.

Ultrasound-guided single-injection femoral nerve block provides effective analgesia after total knee arthroplasty up to 48 hours.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of ultrasound (US) guided single-injection femoral nerve block (FNB) spinal anesthesia on pain control, morphine consumption, adverse effects, and patient satisfaction during the postoperative 48-hour period in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty (TKA). ⋯ This study suggests that a US-guided single-injection femoral nerve block following TKA improves patient satisfaction and reduces consumption of morphine during the first 48 hours.

We evaluated post dural puncture headache (PDPH) cases and the contributing factors and monitored the treatment response with epidural blood patch (EBP), and other therapies. ⋯ In PDPH cases, EBP is an effective and relatively safe method, especially in obstetric patients. We reported that the PDPH symptoms presented earlier in female patients. A preference of a small diameter needle (less than 22 G) and avoidance of multiple attempts is important for spinal anesthesia.

[Comparison the effects of prilocaine and the addition of dexketoprofen and dexamethasone to prilocaine for intravenous regional anesthesia].
The aim of this study was to compare the anesthetic and analgesic effects of prilocaine alone, prilocaine added dexketoprofen and dexamethasone during intravenous regional anesthesia (IVRA). ⋯ The addition of dexketoprofen and dexamethasone to prilocaine during IVRA improves the quality of both anesthesia and analgesia moreover dexketoprofen provides beter postoperative analgesia during the first 24 hour after surgery.
