Randomized Controlled Trial[Effect of esmolol on hemodynamics and clinical outcomes in patients with septic shock].
To evaluate the effect of heart rate control with esmolol on hemodynamics, inflammatory cytokines and clinical outcomes in patients with septic shock. ⋯ It is efficient and safe to use esmolol for heart rate control in patients with septic shock after resuscitation. Esmolol can improve cardiac performance without affecting blood pressure and Lac, but has no effect on inflammatory cytokines and prognosis.

Meta Analysis[High-flow nasal cannulae oxygen in patients with respiratory failure: a Meta-analysis].
To systematically evaluate the efficacy of high-flow nasal cannulae oxygen (HFNC) in patients with respiratory failure. ⋯ Compared with FM, HFNC could reduce the rate of tracheal intubation in patients with respiratory failure, but no difference was found as compared with NIPPV. Compared with FM, HFNC made patients more comfortable, and it was easier to be accepted and tolerated. However, there was no difference in hospital mortality among FM, NIPPV, and HFNC.

Randomized Controlled Trial[Effect of chest physiotherapy in patients undergoing mechanical ventilation: a prospective randomized controlled trial].
To investigate the effect of chest physiotherapy (CPT) on patients undergoing mechanical ventilation (MV). ⋯ CPT treatment has some effect on prevention of VAP and other complications in patients undergoing MV, which could shorten the duration of MV and the length of ICU stay, and promote the recovery of patients.

[Predictive value of left ventricular diastolic dysfunction on mechanical ventilation weaning].
To investigate the predictive value of left ventricular diastolic function on mechanical ventilation weaning in patients with left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) > 0.50. ⋯ The results suggest that left ventricular diastolic dysfunction is significantly associated with weaning outcome in critical patients with LVEF > 0.50. The combination of E/A ratio greater than 1.2 and E/Em ratio greater than 7.9 may identify patients at high risk of weaning failure.

[Value of preoperative pulmonary artery diastolic pressure on predicting primary graft dysfunction after bilateral lung transplantation for patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis].
To analyze the value of the potential risk factors on predicting primary graft dysfunction (PGD) after bilateral lung transplantation for the patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). ⋯ Compared with the non-PGD group, the patients with higher preoperative PADP were more common in the PGD group, and the patients in the PGD group were more likely to be characterized by grade 3 PGD after lung transplantation. The preoperative PADP was an effective predictor of grade 3 PGD after lung transplantation.
