[Six-month outcomes and prediction of mortality in 458 patients with acute coronary syndromes without persistent ST segment elevation assigned to early invasive strategy].
Utilization of early invasive strategy for patients with acute coronary syndromes (ACS) without persistent ST-segment elevation remains controversial. In this study we characterized a group of high-risk patients who underwent early invasive assessment and treatment. ⋯ Early invasive strategy in high-risk ACS patients yields good long-term results with low mortality rate, especially during in-hospital observation. Diabetes mellitus and heart failure were independently associated with increased mortality rate, whereas male sex, previous MI and PCI during index hospitalization predicted major adverse cardiovascular events in 6-month follow-up.

Case Reports[28-year-old woman with Goodpasture's syndrome and nonspecific colitis].
Goodpasture's syndrome usually becomes manifest with progressive glomerulonephritis and pulmonary hemorrhage. The diagnostic hallmark is the demonstration of anti-basement membrane anti-alpha3 type IV collagen antibodies (anti-GMB antibodies) in patient sera. Herein is reported the case of 28-year-old woman with Goodpasture's syndrome who developed the acute symptoms of nonspecific colitis which required surgical intervention. Immunosuppression along with plasmapheresis was successful in the treatment of life-threatening pulmonary hemorrhage, but not for the improvement of renal function.
