Novel coronavirus disease 2019: predicting prognosis by using a computed tomography severity score and clinicolaboratory data.
Currently, there are known contributing factors but no comprehensive methods for predicting the mortality risk or intensive care unit (ICU) admission in patients with novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‑19). ⋯ We can identify factors affecting in‑hospital death and ICU admission in COVID-19. This can help clinicians to determine which patients are likely to require ICU admission and to inform strategic healthcare planning in critical conditions such as the COVID‑19 pandemic.

Observational StudyUsefulness of 2MACE score as a predictor of long-term all-cause mortality in atrial fibrillation patients.
2MACE is a risk assessment score designed to stratify cardiovascular risk in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). Early detection of increased cardiovascular risk is of vital importance in this population, as it helps reduce mortality and morbidity rates. ⋯ The 2MACE score is a good predictor of long‑ term all cause mortality in patients with AF. A progressive increase in the mortality rate was observed with an increasing 2MACE score.

Comparative analysis of exosome markers and extracellular vesicles between colorectal cancer and cancer-associated normal colonic mucosa.
Exosomes are currently considered as the new biomarkers of colorectal cancer (CRC). Tetraspanins (CD9, CD63) belong to the well‑known exosome markers, but can also be found on other subtypes of extracellular vesicles (EVs). ⋯ Exosome markers and EVs were more pronounced in the CRC samples compared with controls. Immunohistochemical evaluation of tetraspanins reflects the results obtained by the NTA. Exocytosis appears to play an important role in the pathogenesis of CRC. To the best of our knowledge, such analysis was carried out for the first time.
