Review[Professional burnout among family doctors and games in patient - doctor relationship].
S Burnout syndrome reveals high prevalence among family doctor in many countries. Its universality in outpatient practice is influenced by numerous relationships with demanding patients. ⋯ These games, bearing significant emotional burden, predispose doctors to burnout. In the authors' opinion a diminishing of the prevalence of burnout syndrome in family doctors may be achieved with creating a friendly work environment for them and developing their skills in managing with difficult patient - doctor relationships.

Review[Anemia in selected diseases of the gastrointestinal tract in children].
Anemia is a frequent symptom of diseases of alimentary tract, also in children. Among others, inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease and Helicobacter pylori are most often complicated by anemia. Not infrequently these disorders are accompanied by more than one type of anemia and moreover its pathogenesis may be complex. ⋯ The treatment of iron deficiency anemia (most frequent in the diseases of the alimentary tract) consists mainly of the treatment of underlying disease, supply of iron in food and in the form of drugs. Transfusions of blood ingredients are done only in severe anemia leading to hemodynamic disturbances. Iron may be supplemented either by oral or intravenous route.

The GOLD 2011 recommendations for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) introduce a new classification system to optimize treatment in individual patients. Except for FEV,, this classification incorporates breathlessness measurement using modified medical research council questionnaire (mMRC) or the COPD assessment Test (CAT) and the number of exacerbations. The aim of our study was to compare the GOLD 2010 and GOLD 2011 COPD. ⋯ The new classification according to GOLD 2011 lets on optimizations of the treatment, in most cases of COPD patients but in clinical practice, there may be problems with the classification of the patients with severe airway obstruction without frequent exacerbations and especially those with mild/moderate airflow limitation and frequent exacerbations.

Comparative Study[Medical procedures carried out by rescue team at multiple body injury victims of accidents].
Medical emergency ambulances with physician are the only that could give qualified medical aid to victims of incidents at the theatre and while transportation. ⋯ The multiple body injuries were recognized to one of fourth victims of incidents of which traffic accidents and beating were predominant causes. Multiply body injuries (MBI) victims need more frequent advanced live support (resuscitation) or compound medical aid on scene. Resuscitation was independent on kind and heaviness of injury to victims of incidents.

Randomized Controlled Trial[The relationship between testosterone deficiency and metabolic syndrome in obese men].
In aging males testosterone decreases approximately 0,8-1% annually. This physiological process can be intensified in obesity and metabolic syndrome (MS). Progressive testosterone deficiency can exacerbate existing metabolic disorders, leading to a vicious circle. The aim of the study was to assess the frequency of testosterone deficiency syndrome (TDS) and concomitance of TDS and MS in obese male patients. Moreover assessment of correlation between TDS markers (total testosterone - TT, free testosterone - fT, sex-hormone binding globulin - SHBG) and obesity, blood pressure, fasting lipid levels, fasting blood glucose, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP), fibrynogen (Fb) was performed. The present study aimed to establish if patients with TDS and MS have more severe metabolic disorders, higher average systolic and diastolic pressure comparing to group with MS without TDS. ⋯ Among obese males aged > or = 39 frequency of TDS is high (47%). Coincidence of MS and TDS was observed in 56% patients. The inverse correlation between body weight and SHBG and TT was noted and positive association between SHBG and age was established in MS(+) group. No statistically significant difference in fasting lipid levels, fasting blood glucose, CRP, Fb, BP was found between MS(+)TDS(+) patients and MS(+)TDS(-). No statistically significant correlation was found between TT fT, SHBG and IIEF-5, AMS score.
