In the literature devoted to the phenomenon of self-harm among engaged imprisonment, meets the different views the causes of such behavior and the risk of their occurrence. Views prevail, according to which aggression is considered common phenomenon among people in prisons. Social isolation and lack of close intimate relationships may foster this type of behavior. The aim of this study is to assess the prevalence of self-aggressive behavior among prisoners. ⋯ In carrying out self-aggressive states embedded high rates of mental dysfunction, mainly disorders Personality and alcohol dependence and/or psychoactive substances. Among those who made a successful suicide bombing found a high rate of personality disorders and disorders depressive. Causes and determinants of self-harm and suicides by persons residing in institutions prisons are in many respects similar. Those embedded in prisons having mental disorders pose a high risk of autoimmunity, and therefore require special supervision and care of individual psycho-psychological one.

Personage-Turner syndrome or acute brachial radiculitis is rare syndrome. In typical cases it was manifested by strong pain of shoulder region and the weakness of muscles which are supplies by individual nerves or part of brachial plexus and in longer time with atrophy. ⋯ Diagnosis is made on the typical clinical picture and in exclusion many illness with impairment brachial plexus. In presented case the course of disease as well as executed investigations suggested that discopathy could be the reason of paresis, however renewed estimation caused the change of the diagnosis.

Review[Antimicrobial therapy of severe infections in critically ill patients].
Antimicrobial therapy of severe infections in critically ill patients becomes an important clinical problem. One of the reason is increasing resistance of pathogens to antibiotics. In this paper the current problems of the treatment of severe infections in Intensive Care Units' patients were discussed as well as benefits of modern antimicrobial agents were presented.

Review[Antibiotic therapy in community acquired pneumonia in children].
Pneumonia is still the main cause of initiation antibiotic therapy in children, despite the fact that according to the newest epidemiological data, its incidence seems to be lower. In this paper current data concerning etiology, diagnostics and guidelines are discussed. The empirical antibiotic therapy of childhood pneumonia in different age groups is described. Author showed future trends in research necessary to solve controversies in present guidelines.

Drug-resistant tuberculosis, and particularly multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) and extensive drug resistant TB (XDR-TB) as an increasing health problem and a serious challenge to TB control programs. MDR-Tb and XDR-TB are highly lethal in people living with HIV, with case of fatality rates of over 90%. At the same time, there are not many drugs effective in TB chemotherapy. ⋯ Drug resistance in tuberculosis patients have been monitored in Poland for a long time. In period of recent 30 years the mean frequency of resistant was on the similar level with very low rate of RMP mono-resistance to M. tuberculosis. Both type of resistance MDR and XDR have been found in Polish tuberculosis patients.
