BML-111 inhibits the inflammatory response and apoptosis of renal tissue in rats with hemorrhagic shock by inhibiting the MAPK pathway.
The effect of lipoxin receptor agonist BML-111 on acute kidney injury and AKI in rats with hemorrhagic shock (HS) and its mechanism were investigated. ⋯ BML-111 can reduce the inflammatory response and apoptosis of renal tissue by inhibiting the activation of MAPK signaling pathway in acute renal injury induced by hemorrhagic shock.

The correlation of plasma microRNA-200 family expressions with risk and disease severity of lupus nephritis.
To investigate whether plasma microRNA-200 family expressions could serve as diagnostic biomarkers in patients with lupus nephritis (LN), and their association with disease severity. ⋯ Circulating miR-200b-5p, miR-141-5p, and miR-200c-5p expressions could be served as novel and convincing diagnostic biomarkers for LN.

Tirofiban combined with rt-PA intraarterial thrombolysis improves the recanalization rate of acute middle cerebral artery occlusion in rabbits.
To investigate the curative effect of tirofiban combined with recombinant tissue-plasminogen activator (rt-PA) selective intra-arterial thrombolysis on acute middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO). ⋯ Early application of tirofiban combined with rt-PA in intra-arterial thrombolysis for ultra-early cerebral ischemia can improve the recanalization rate of cerebral artery. The time of cerebral ischemia and hypoxia is short, and the neuronal ischemia-reperfusion injury is mild, whose thrombolysis effect is better than the single application of tirofiban or rt-PA.

Cigarette smoking is an important risk factor for many diseases. This study aimed to evaluate whether cigarette smoking is associated with changes in the thiol/disulfide homeostasis (TDH), a novel biomarker of systemic oxidative stress. ⋯ To our knowledge, this investigation is the first in the literature that investigated TDH in cigarette smokers. Our results show that cigarette smoking may lead to oxidative stress and TDH shifts through disulfide side compared to the healthy group. Further studies with larger sample size are needed to confirm our results for showing the changes in TDH to contribute to the clinical practice.

Ketamine alleviates LPS induced lung injury by inhibiting HMGB1-RAGE level.
Inflammatory cytokines secretion is an important reason to promote lung tissue inflammation in acute lung injury (ALI). High mobility group box 1 (HMGB-1) and its receptor for advanced glycation end products (RAGEs) play a role in ALI. Ketamine can significantly alleviate ALI, whereas its specific mechanism has not been fully elucidated. ⋯ Ketamine can alleviate LPS induced lung injury through inhibiting HMGB1-RAGE level. It could be treated as a new choice for ALI treatment.
