Study on the levels of uric acid and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein in ACS patients and their relationships with the extent of the coronary artery lesion.
We evaluated uric acid (UA) and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) levels in different clinical types of acute coronary syndromes (ACS) and in relationship with the severity of coronary artery lesions. Furthermore, we explored its clinical significance. ⋯ UA and hs-CRP levels should be considered as factors to use in the risk stratification in ACS patients.

A novel lecithin based delivery form of Boswellic acids (Casperome®) for the management of osteo-muscular pain: a registry study in young rugby players.
Several experimental studies and clinical trials support the potential of Boswellia serrata extracts (BSE) for the treatment of various inflammatory diseases. The aim of this registry study was to assess the safety and the efficacy of a novel lecithin-based delivery form of Boswellia serrata extract (Casperome®) in the supportive management of osteo-muscular pain. ⋯ Our registry study suggests that Casperome® supplementation could represent an effective and safe, integrated approach for the treatment of osteo-muscular pain and inflammation.

Size of bone flap and bone window area may impact the outcome of decompressive craniectomy using standard bone flap.
To verify if the size of the bone flap and the bone window area may have an impact on the outcome of decompressive craniectomy. ⋯ The bone flap decompressive craniectomy is safe and effective, and the depressurizing range has a positive correlation with the diameter of the bone disc and the area of the bone window.

Case ReportsDenosumab: non-surgical treatment option for selective arterial embolization resistant aneurysmal bone cyst of the spine and sacrum. Case report.
Aneurysmal Bone Cyst (ABC) is a cystic lesion of bone, occurring in 70% of cases as a primary lesion. Even if the metaphyseal region of long bones is more frequently involved, vertebral localization is not rare: ABC represents 15% of all primary spine and sacral tumours. Selective arterial embolization (SAE) represents the first treatment option for vertebral ABC. However, in few cases, multiple SAEs are not possible. The aim of this work is to report two cases of vertebral ABC unresponsive to SAE positively treated with Denosumab. ⋯ The two cases reported here are not conclusive but they may support the project of a prospective study to confirm the effectiveness of Denosumab in ABC treatment as an alternative to SAE.

Clinical significance of up-regulated lncRNA NEAT1 in prognosis of ovarian cancer.
The purpose of the present study was to examine the expression levels of lncRNA NEAT1 in fresh ovarian cancer (OC) tissue and matched adjacent normal tissue specimens, and investigate the clinical significance of NEAT1 in OC. ⋯ These results suggest that NEAT1 has a potential to function as a clinical biomarker for predicting disease invasiveness and prognosis of patients with OC.
