[Effect of admission blood glucose levels on the short term mortality in patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction].
To evaluate the predictive value of different admission blood glucose levels for short-term mortality in patients with ST-segment elevation acute myocardial infarction (STEMI). ⋯ The 30-day mortality was higher in STEMI patients with mild, moderate and severe hyperglycemia at admission. [Surgical options and result analyses in adult degenerative lumbar scoliosis].
To investigate the clinical and radiographic outcomes for varying degrees of degenerative lumbar scoliosis using different surgical options with a minimal 5-year follow-up. ⋯ The surgical aim for adults with a spinal deformity is to achieve a stable, balanced and pain-free spine. Surgical treatments should consist of decompression and fusion with segmental instrumentation to avoid instability and curb progression. Despite the complexity of adult lumbar degenerative scoliosis, it might improve the quality of life for patients by choosing an appropriate operation option on the basis of varying degrees of lumbar deformity.

To study the effects of ketamine anesthesia and surgery on cognition and synaptic structure in hippocampus of senile rats. ⋯ Surgical injury can impair cognition of senile rats and the synaptic plasticity might be involved in postoperative cognitive dysfunction.

[Plastic surgical management of large cicatricial scalp alopecia].
To investigate the proper ways to manage a large cicatricial scalp alopecia. ⋯ Either hair grafting or tissue expansion is proven as a safe and effective technique for restoration of large cicatricial scalp alopecia. The former technique could be of benefits to simple, mini-surgical procedure, natural hair growth and good for lesion size under 30%. And the letter technique shows wider clinical indications, especially for the patients with unstable scar, skull defect under lesion and lesion over 50%. But the obvious drawbacks are multi-clinic visiting, disfigurement and long-term procedures.
