Clinical Trial[Influence of non-depolarizing relaxant on facial nerve monitoring during total intravenous anesthesia].
To study the feasibility of using non-depolarizing relaxant in intraoperative facial nerve monitoring (IFNM) during total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA). ⋯ IFNM can be safely and efficaciously performed when neuromuscular blockade is monitored carefully during TIVA.

Clinical Trial[The target plasma concentration of propofol required to induce electroencephalography burst suppression with target-controlled infusion].
To determine the optimal target plasma concentration of propofol required to induce EEG burst suppression administered by TCI in order to decrease cerebral metabolic rate and increase tolerance to cerebral ischemia and hypoxia. ⋯ The target plasma concentration of propofol reached 6.2 microg/ml can induce EEG burst suppression, which is better for intraoperative cerebral protection.

[Effects of glutamine on the cytokine expression of peripheral blood mononuclear cells].
To investigate the effects of glutamine (Gln) on the cytokine expression of the peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) stimulated by lipopolysaccharide (LPS). ⋯ Glutamine dose- and time-dependently downregulates the expression of the mediators of inflammation, and lessen the excessive expression of those cytokines in cells stimulated by LPS.

[The role of mitogen-activated protein kinase cascades in inhibition of proliferation in human prostate carcinoma cells by raloxifene: an in vitro experiment].
To investigate the role of mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) in the apoptosis and cell cycle arrest of human prostate carcinoma cells induced by raloxifene (RAL). ⋯ RAL inhibits the proliferation and induces the apoptosis and G(1) cell cycle arrest via MAPK cascades in human prostate carcinoma cells. Up-regulation of P21(WAF1) mRNA expression by activating ERK1/2 and down-regulation of cyclinD1 by activating p38 induces G(1) cell cycle arrest in the human prostate carcinoma cells. The ERK1/2 or p38 cascade is involved in the induction of apoptosis by RAL. The activation of ERK1/2 increases the expression of Bax. The activation of p38 phosphorylates Bcl-2 then inactivates Bcl-2.
