Randomized Controlled Trial Clinical Trial[The effects of general anesthesia combined with epidural anesthesia on the stress response in thoracic surgery].
To study the effects of general anesthesia combined with epidural anesthesia (GEA) and pure general anesthesia (GA) on the surgical stress response and cytokines in pulmonary surgery. ⋯ Pulmonary surgery performed with two different anesthetic techniques causes inflammatory cytokine responses. The additional epidural anesthesia doesn't influence cytokine production. It incompletely inhibits the stress response in the early phase. IL-6 and cortisol may have some effects on each other.

[Feasibility study of controlled hypotension induced with combination of propofol and desflurane in craniotomy].
To evaluate the feasibility of controlled hypotension induced with combination of propofol and desflurane in craniotomy. ⋯ With low propofol infusion rate and low desflurane inhalation concentration, rapid hypotension, rapid recovery of breathing after operation, a short recovery time from anesthesia, and decreased CSFP and brain oxygen metabolism, controlled hypotension with propofol infusion and desflurane inhalation is suitable to intracranial surgery.

Meta Analysis[A meta-analysis of clinical studies of low volume ventilation in acute respiratory distress syndrome].
Pool the published data of randomized-controlled trials (RCTs) about the effect of low volume ventilation in acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and evaluate if low volume ventilation can reduce the mortality of ARDS. ⋯ Low volume ventilation benefits the survival of ARDS. It is worth application in clinical practice.

Randomized Controlled Trial Clinical Trial[Effect of volume replacement with hydroxyethyl starch solution for blood loss on splanchnic oxygenation in patients undergoing cytoreductive surgery for ovarian carcinoma].
To investigate the effect of medium molecular weight hydroxyethyl starch solution (HES) administered as replacement for estimated blood losses (EBL) during cytoreductive surgery for ovarian carcinoma on splanchnic oxygenation. ⋯ In patients undergoing major surgery, volume resuscitation with medium molecular weight HES improves the splanchnic blood flow and tissue oxygenation.
