[The growth inhibition of anti-EGF receptor monoclonal antibody to human lung adenocarcinoma cells].
Epidermal growth factor (EGF) and its receptor play a critical role in the growth and regulation of many type of malignant cell. The high level of expression of the EGFR on normal cell lung cancer(NSCLC) and the important role of EGFR in signal transduction make it potentially an excellent target for antibody directed therapy. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the anti-tumor effects of anti-EGFR monoclonal antibody on lung carcinoma cells. ⋯ Our initial results indicate that the anti-EGF receptor monoclonal antibody may be potentially useful for the biotherapy of lung adenocarcinoma.
