[Experts' views on the communication of risks and benefits of mammography to detect breast cancer].
Breast cancer (BC) has a high mortality rate in developing countries due to a scarcity of early detection. Risk communication is critical to support women who face the decision to undertake BC screening. Thus, they can balance their perceived and real risk, and make informed choices. ⋯ These findings emphasize the need to include risk communication strategies in the patient-provider relationship and encourage and respect women's autonomy when facing the BC screening decision.

[Lung transplant with ex vivo lung perfusion, Chilean and Latin American first experience].
The number of patients waiting for a lung transplant worldwide greatly exceeds the number of available donors. Ex vivo lung perfusion is a useful tool that allows marginal donor lungs to be evaluated and reconditioned for a successful lung transplantation. ⋯ ex vivo lung perfusion is a safe and useful tool that allows marginal donor lungs to be reconditioned and successfully transplanted.

[A new equation to estimate daily natriuresis from parameters in plasma and spot urine sample in the Chilean population].
Excessive sodium intake is associated with increased cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Daily sodium intake is usually inferred from sodium excretion in a 24-hour urine collection, which is cumbersome and prone to errors. Different formulas have attempted to estimate 24-hour urinary sodium from a spot urine sample. Unfortunately, their concordances are insufficient and have not been tested in our population. ⋯ We developed a formula to accurately predict daily natriuresis in the Chilean population.

[Overview of machine learning and its application in the management of emergency services].
The processes associated with health care generate a large amount of information that is difficult to analyze using standard statistical procedures. In this context, disciplines such as Data Science became relevant, mainly through strategies such as Machine Learning (ML). The latter groups a series of tools whose purpose is to develop algorithms to extract information from data, whether for explanation, classification, or prediction. ⋯ Also, there are difficulties in understanding these types of studies. This work tries to offer a nontechnical overview of the ML concept and its advantages for health care management. It collects examples of ML applications in emergency department management.

[Calorie and macronutrient intake during the first six months after bariatric surgery].
Bariatric surgery (BS) is the most effective procedure in the management of obesity, achieving a significant decrease in energy intake. ⋯ Patients subjected to BS had a low calorie and macronutrient intake in the first six postoperative months. Their calorie intake is negatively associated with weight loss, mainly during the first postoperative month.
