Plating, nailing, external fixation, and fibular strut grafting for non-union of humeral shaft fractures.
To compare various treatment modalities (plating, Ilizarov external fixation, and non-vascular fibular cortical strut grafting) for non-union of humeral shaft fractures. ⋯ Compression plating achieved the best results. An external fixator may be used temporarily for infected non-unions. Fibular strut grafting may be used when non-unions warrant additional stability.

Case ReportsEpidural and intradural cement leakage following percutaneous vertebroplasty: a case report.
A 48-year-old woman presented with severe bilateral leg pain, urinary incontinence, and paraparesis following vertebroplasty in another hospital 15 days earlier. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging showed blocks of epidural and intradural cement from T12 to L1 with neurological compression. She underwent corpectomy of L1 and removal of extradural cement, followed by anterior reconstruction with an expandable cage and dual rodscrew construct (Kaneda system). ⋯ Postoperatively, the patient reported immediate pain relief. Her neurological status gradually improved over months. At the 2-year follow-up, the patient was able to walk with support and to perform activities of daily living and had regained her urinary function.

Review Case ReportsBosworth fracture-dislocation of the ankle: a case report.
Bosworth fracture-dislocation of the ankle is a rare injury in which the proximal fibular fragment is entrapped behind the tibia. Closed reduction is extremely difficult to achieve. Early open reduction and internal fixation enables a better outcome by minimising soft-tissue damage. We report on a 36-year-old man who underwent open reduction and internal fixation for a Bosworth fracture-dislocation of the ankle complicated by severe soft-tissue swelling and an impending risk of skin necrosis after failed closed reduction.

Case ReportsLoeys-Dietz syndrome with bilateral radial head dislocations: a case report.
Loeys-Dietz syndrome is characterised by vascular aneurysms, hypertelorism, and a bifid uvula. We report on an 11-year-old boy with Loeys-Dietz syndrome who presented with bilateral radial head dislocations and severe osteopaenia with changes of avascular necrosis in both hips causing an out-toeing, wide gait. Considering the poor prognosis for elbow movement and possible radial head dysplasia, surgical reduction of the radial heads was deferred. A subtrochanteric de-rotation osteotomy of the left hip was performed to improve the gait.
