Use of Advanced Energy Devices and Fiberoptic Retractors in Single-Incision Breast-Conserving Surgery for Breast Cancer.
The use of advanced energy devices for mastectomy and axillary lymph node dissection can reduce perioperative blood loss, seroma formation, and drainage duration/volume. Retraction using fiberoptic retractors can help visualize deep and narrow surgical fields. We aimed to compare the postoperative outcomes between single-incision breast-conserving surgery (SIBCS) and conventional breast-conserving surgery (CBCS) with axillary staging using advanced energy devices and conventional equipment, respectively. ⋯ Using advanced energy devices for SIBCS with axillary staging reduced incision size and provided better cosmetic outcomes compared to those using the conventional method. Advanced energy devices may offer better surgical outcomes in patients who undergo BCS with axillary staging.

Association between Low Serum Creatinine Levels and Knee Osteoarthritis in Koreans without Renal Insufficiency.
This study aimed to investigate the correlation between serum creatinine levels and the presence and severity of radiographic knee osteoarthritis (OA) in individuals aged ≥50 years while adjusting for potential confounders. ⋯ Low serum creatinine level was associated with a higher presence of knee OA in both men and women, and was also linked to the severity of the disease. These findings suggest that the serum creatinine level may be a potential biomarker for assessing the presence and severity of knee OA.

Exploring the Expression and Function of T Cell Surface Markers Identified through Cellular Indexing of Transcriptomes and Epitopes by Sequencing.
By utilizing both protein and mRNA expression patterns, we can identify more detailed and diverse immune cells, providing insights into understanding the complex immune landscape in cancer ecosystems. ⋯ In this study, we used CITE-seq data to confirm that protein expression patterns could be used to identify cells more precisely. These findings will improve our understanding of the heterogeneity of immune cells in the future and provide valuable insights into the complexity of the immune response in health and disease.

Case ReportsRecurrent Acute Limb Ischemia and Successful Treatment with Endovascular Thrombectomy.
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is associated with an increased risk of thromboembolic events; however, many patients with AF are noncompliant with medication regimens, which increases said risk substantially. Suboptimal health literacy presents significant hurdles to compliance with medical treatment. ⋯ Both events were successfully treated with endovascular thrombectomy. This case study not only showcases the efficacy of the latest endovascular technologies, but also draws attention to the importance of strict patient medication adherence in AF and the effects that health literacy can have on said adherence.

Randomized Controlled TrialCumulative Effects of Concurrent Inspiratory Muscle Training and Postural Correction Bands on Older Individuals Community Dwellers: A Randomized Study.
Posture correction bands (PCBs) have been proposed as aids to help chest expansion and to enhance respiratory function. However, the impact of PCBs on community-based older individuals engaged in inspiratory muscle training (IMT) at home remains unclear. ⋯ This study was registered with the Clinical Research Information Service, part of the World Health Organization's International Clinical Trials Registry Platform (Clinical Research Information Service No. KCT0008075).
