Controlled Clinical Trial[The efficacy and safety of autologous cryopreserved platelet transfusion in management of thrombocytopenia after chemotherapy in hematological malignancy].
To investigate the efficacy and safety of autologous cryopreserved platelet transfusion in the management of thrombocytopenia after chemotherapy in hematological malignancy. ⋯ This study demonstrates that autologous cryopreserved platelet transfusions can be safely administered for supporting thrombocytopenia in hematological malignancy patients undergoing chemotherapy.

Case Reports[A clinical analysis of reninoma-induced hypertensive crisis associated with reversible posterior encephalopathy syndrome].
Reninoma is a rare benign tumor of the renal juxtaglomerular cell apparatus that causes hypertension and hypokalemia via hypersecretion of renin, while it is extremely rare that reninoma induced hypertensive crisis with reversible posterior encephalopathy syndrome (RPES). To improve the clinical understanding for this disease, we conducted a case-analysis. ⋯ Reninoma represents a rare but surgically curable cause of hypertension, thus the clinical suspicion of it is very important in young patients. If the diagnosis is confirmed, positive treatment must be done immediately to improve the prognosis. The most common cause of RPES is hypertension, and the diagnosis depends on the distinctive head MRI. There is always a good prognosis with the decline of blood pressure rapidly.

[A study of esophageal function and reflux characteristics of gastroesophageal reflux disease in patients presenting with chronic cough].
To investigate the characteristics of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) with chronic cough by the results of combined multichannel intraluminal impedance and high-resolution manometry (MII-HRM) procedure and 24-hour multichannel intraluminal impedance combined pH (MII-pH) monitoring. ⋯ Decrease of the UESP, increase of the reflux episode activity (acid/nonacid) in supine position and proximal reflux episode (nonacid) in supine position, lengthened mean bolus clearance time in supine position and the degraded esophagus clearance ability may all correlated with the pathogenesy of GERD with chronic cough.

[Dead space guided positive end-expiratory pressure in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome].
To evaluate the value of dead space fraction (V(D)/V(T)) guided positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) in acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). ⋯ V(D)/V(T) could be one of the methods to titrate the optimal PEEP in patients with early ARDS. Optimal PEEP targeting the highest compliance in conjunction with the lowest dead space fraction indicated a maximum amount of effectively expanded alveoli.

Clinical Trial[The clinical application of pulmonary vascular permeability index on differential diagnosis of acute pulmonary edema].
To assess the value of pulmonary vascular permeability index in differentiating acute lung injury (ALI) from cardiac pulmonary edema. ⋯ PVPI may be useful for differentiating the types of pulmonary edema in the critically ill.
