Comparative Study[Difficult for intubation in a simulator with laryngoscope with and without mirror].
The mirror laryngoscope blade (Siker blade) is used often in patients with anatomical variations, because it improves the visibility of epiglottis, shortening the intubation time. The objective was to compare the degree of difficulty in intubation with Macintosh blade versus Siker blade in a simulator, among anesthesiologists and residents in training. ⋯ It was more difficult for anesthesiologists and residents in training the use of the Siker blade in both stages, with normal or difficult airway on a simulator.

[Serum lactate as a biomarker of severe sepsis in children with cancer, neutropenia and fever].
Neutropenia is a common chemotherapy-derived complication in cancer patients, in whom the prevalence of sepsis ranges from 12.9 % to 17.4 %, with a lethality rate of 16 %. The aim of this study was to determine the usefulness of serum lactate as a biomarker of severe sepsis in children with cancer, fever and neutropenia. ⋯ A serum lactate level greater than or equal to 2 mmol/L is consistent with severe sepsis in children with cancer, fever and neutropenia who are hemodynamically stable and without hypoperfusion.

Observational Study[Blood and urine lead levels in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder].
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is the most common neuropsychiatric disorder in children; symptoms can persist into adult life by 60 %. Our objective was to quantify the levels of lead in blood and urine in pediatric patients with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. ⋯ Levels of lead exposure during early childhood have been shown to be inversely proportional to neurological development in the first seven years of life. Data results are insufficient to relate them with causality.
