The objective was to investigate prevalence, estimate risk factors, and antenatal suspicion of abnormally invasive placenta (AIP) associated with laparotomy in women in the Nordic countries. ⋯ An ultrasound assessment in women with placenta praevia or prior CS may double the awareness for AIP.

Magnesium sulfate, chorioamnionitis, and neurodevelopment after preterm birth.
To assess the neuroprotective effect of magnesium sulfate (MgSO4 ) in preterm children exposed to chorioamnionitis. ⋯ MgSO4 was not associated with improved neurodevelopmental outcome in setting of chorioamnionitis.
