The purpose of this study was to determine the intra- and interobserver reliability of a modified Modic classification for bone marrow changes seen on lumbar spine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), taking into consideration mixed signals. ⋯ This study shows that the modified Modic classification is reliable and easy to apply for observers with different clinical experience. The inclusion of mixed marrow changes in the modified classification may have clinical and therapeutic implications.

Parsonage-Turner syndrome, also known as acute brachial neuritis or neuralgic amyotrophy, can be caused by various infectious agents. We report on four patients who experienced Parsonage-Turner syndrome as the first manifestation of Lyme disease. The clinical picture was typical, with acute shoulder pain followed rapidly by weakness and wasting of the shoulder girdle muscles. ⋯ Two patients achieved a full recovery within 6 months. Parsonage-Turner syndrome should be added to the list of manifestations of neuroborreliosis. Serological tests for Lyme disease should be performed routinely in patients with Parsonage-Turner syndrome.

Neurological manifestations in Gougerot-Sjogren syndrome (GSS) are valued differently. This is essentially the achievement of the peripheral nervous system. ⋯ The analysis of neurological manifestations in GSS encounters three difficulties: the lack in homogeneity of diagnostic criteria (which makes it difficult to compare the frequency of neurological complications in different series), the limited number of large series, and the cases with neurological manifestations revealing this syndrome.
