Palliative care in Latin America: Are we making any progress? Assessing development over time using macro indicators.
Monitoring and reporting palliative care development serves to identify progress as well as remaining challenges for improvement. ⋯ Significant advances in palliative care development in Latin America have been achieved. The ALCP-II Index is useful for assessing and comparing palliative care development across countries.

Buprenorphine (BUP) can be a safe and effective alternative to traditional opioids for many patients with chronic pain. For patients on higher doses of opioids, rotation to BUP is complicated by the requirement of an opioid-free interval or withdrawal during the transition. Microdosing inductions, in which BUP is gradually titrated, while full agonist opioids are continued, are a viable alternative to traditional inductions. ⋯ Beyond the products used, the speed of the microinduction, setting, final BUP dosing, and management of concomitant full agonists vary widely in the literature. Microdosing regimens should be individualized based on local guidelines and patient-specific factors. Further studies comparing the safety and efficacy of different protocols are warranted.

Utilization of Rehabilitation Services and Associated Factors Among Adults with Cancer Diagnoses at Hawassa Comprehensive Specialized Hospital, Ethiopia.
Rehabilitation is a type of treatment that focuses on improving a person's physical, social, cognitive, and emotional functioning. Currently, there is a significant unmet need for rehabilitation. Despite the expansion of rehabilitation services in Ethiopia, little is known about its utilization and associated factors. ⋯ Only 33.2% of adults with cancer diagnoses at Hawassa Comprehensive Specialized Hospital utilized rehabilitation services. To improve the utilization of rehabilitation services, patients should receive adequate education on the benefits of rehabilitation.
