Hypertension is a major cause of cardiovascular diseases. Many studies have pointed out that the atherogenic index of plasma (AIP), which demonstrates plasma atherogenicity, is correlated with all-cause mortality, cardiovascular morbidity, atherosclerosis, and severity of coronary artery disease. Within this context, we tried to evaluate the correlation between nondipping circadian pattern and AIP. ⋯ AIP levels are higher in patients with nondipping pattern compared to dipper patients. Additionally, higher levels of AIP are independently associated with the presence of the nondipping pattern in hypertensive patients.

Disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) in multiple sclerosis (MS) may affect the course and outcome of COVID-19, but withholding them could permit disease activity. This study aimed to understand the course of COVID-19 in unvaccinated patients with MS on disease-modifying therapies. ⋯ These findings suggest that DMT may not adversely affect the course of COVID-19 in MS patients; however, patients on B-cell-depleting agents trended toward a worse outcome.

Case ReportsSubacute Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus in a Patient with Mixed Connective Tissue Disease.
Mixed Connective Tissue Disease (MCTD) is an overlap syndrome of mild severity and good outcome. This disease consists of clinical features overlapping between Systemic Lupus erythematosus (SLE), scleroderma, rheumatoid arthritis, and polymyositis, in the presence of specific anti-RNP antibodies. We report a case of a 20-year girl who presented with a 3-month history of joint pains involving the small joints of her hands along with morning stiffness, skin thickening of hands, Raynauds phenomena, and recurrent photosensitive skin rashes. ⋯ She was diagnosed as MCTD with subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus (SCLE) and started on hydroxychloroquine and oral prednisolone. At 6 months follow-up, she was in remission and tolerating hydroxychloroquine without any adverse effects. Key Words: Mixed connective tissue disease, Anti-RNP antibodies, Subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus, Skin biopsy.
