The objective of this study was to explore the key elements of Korean medicine (KM) treatment for idiopathic short stature (ISS) by analyzing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT). This was a qualitative study of interviews with 7 KM doctors who had at least 3 years of experience in KM treatment for ISS. Based on the content, a SWOT and a cross-SWOT analysis were conducted. ⋯ Threats included the limited use of diagnostic devices and relatively high medical costs due to non-coverage by national health insurance. This study suggests that the safety and clinical effectiveness evidence of KM treatment for height growth should be guaranteed through well-designed large-scale long-term studies. Various strategies are needed to promote the use of diagnostic and evaluation devices for ISS treatment in KM clinical settings.

Efficacy and safety of mycophenolate mofetil versus cyclophosphamide therapy for Henoch schonlein purpura nephritis in children: A meta-analysis.
The objective of this meta-analysis was to compare the efficacy and safety between glucocorticoids combined with mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) versus glucocorticoids combined with cyclophosphamide (CTX) for henoch schonlein purpura nephritis (HSPN) in children. ⋯ Glucocorticoids combined with MMF had a higher CR and lower incidence of adverse effects compared with glucocorticoids combined with CTX in the treatment of HSPN in children.

Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) is a rare but potentially life-threatening neurological disorder characterized by acute onset ascending paralysis and sensory abnormalities. This article provides a comprehensive overview of GBS, covering its epidemiology, etiology, clinical presentation, diagnostic evaluation, management and treatment, prognosis, psychosocial impact, recent advances in research, public health implications, and ethical considerations. Epidemiological data reveal variations in GBS prevalence, incidence rates, and geographical distribution influenced by climate, infectious disease prevalence, and genetic susceptibility. ⋯ Recent advances in research focus on emerging treatments, genetic predisposition, and biomarker discovery, offering promise for improving GBS outcomes. Public health implications include vaccination safety concerns and healthcare system considerations for GBS management. Ethical considerations encompass patient autonomy, resource allocation, and end-of-life decision-making.

Hyalinizing clear cell carcinoma of the sublingual gland: A case report and literature review.
Hyalinizing clear cell carcinoma (HCCC) of the salivary glands is a rare low-grade malignant tumor. This type of tumor is particularly uncommon in the sublingual glands. ⋯ The absence of characteristic clinical manifestations makes HCCC highly susceptible to misdiagnoses. This case presents a rare instance of HCCC in the sublingual gland, providing a reference for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of the disease.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by progressive memory loss. The main pathological features are neuronal fibrillary tangles caused by amyloid beta deposition and hyperphosphorylation of tau protein, accompanied by neuronal death and loss of synaptic structure. Early diagnosis is the key to the treatment of AD. ⋯ The diagnostic biomarkers related to AD were mainly distributed in cerebrospinal fluid and blood. Significant changes in these molecules can be detected in cerebrospinal fluid and blood, and they are correlated with AD severity. These humoral molecules have necessary relationship with AD and can be used as AD biomarkers to assist early diagnosis of AD.
