Case Reports
A case report of central core disease with repeated foaming at the mouth as the initial symptom.
Central core disease (CCD) is a congenital myopathy primarily observed in infants and children. It frequently manifests as limb weakness or delayed motor development, characterized by gradually progressing or non-worsening weakness and muscle atrophy primarily affecting the proximal limbs. Joint deformity is a prevalent clinical feature. Presently, there is no targeted treatment available for this condition. ⋯ The onset of CCD may manifest as various symptoms. Medical practitioners need to be attentive in recognizing individuals who experience recurring pneumonia along with reduced muscle tone during the course of clinical diagnosis and treatment.

Acute Oral Mucositis During Hypo-Fractionated Radiation in Squamous Cell Carcinoma of Oral Cavity.
Oral mucositis remains a concern in the treatment of head and neck malignancies. This small study included 11 patients treated by hypo-fractionated radiotherapy and assessed for oral mucositis. All patients received a radiation dose of 55 Gy in 20 fractions (2.75 Gy/fraction). ⋯ Grade II oral mucositis was the most common grade found mainly in the last week of radiation therapy. None had Grade IV oral mucositis. Key Words: Acute oral mucositis, Hypo-fractioned radiation, Oral carcinoma.

Gene amplification of human epidermal growth factor receptor2 (HER2) 2+ is essential to be determined for treatment planning. A search of the PubMed database indicates that the correlation between texture features from dynamic contrast enhanced (DCE)-MRI and HER2 2+ status has not been investigated extensively in invasive ductal carcinoma cases. ⋯ Texture analysis based on breast MRI delivered consistently high performance with FISH detection and may serve as a useful supplementary tool for determining the gene amplification status of HER2 2+ for cases with invasive ductal carcinoma.
