Since the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the virus that causes COVID-19, has been spreading globally, variants have emerged and been identified in many countries around the world. This descriptive cross-sectional study aimed to explore the level of knowledge, attitude, and adherence to coronavirus variant preventive measures among residents of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This is a cross-sectional online survey that was conducted between April and November 2020 and involved the residents of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. ⋯ Females and younger age were predictors of a better attitude towards COVID-19 (P < .01). The majority of the residents were afraid of the spread and mutation of the coronavirus. This study highlights the value of continuing community service learning programs for raising knowledge retention and adherence to coronavirus variant prevention strategies.

Efficacy and safety of baricitinib in patients with severe COVID-19: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
This study aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of baricitinib in patients with severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). ⋯ Baricitinib reduces mortality and mechanical ventilation requirements in patients with severe COVID-19. Therefore, we developed a comprehensive understanding of the role of baricitinib in patients with severe COVID-19.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Intensified screening for SARS-CoV-2 in 18 emergency departments in the Paris metropolitan area, France (DEPIST-COVID): A cluster-randomized, two-period, crossover trial.
Asymptomatic and paucisymptomatic infections account for a substantial portion of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) transmissions. The value of intensified screening strategies, especially in emergency departments (EDs), in reaching asymptomatic and paucisymptomatic patients and helping to improve detection and reduce transmission has not been documented. The objective of this study was to evaluate in EDs whether an intensified SARS-CoV-2 screening strategy combining nurse-driven screening for asymptomatic/paucisymptomatic patients with routine practice (intervention) could contribute to higher detection of SARS-CoV-2 infections compared to routine practice alone, including screening for symptomatic or hospitalized patients (control). ⋯ The results of this study showed that intensified screening for SARS-CoV-2 in EDs was unlikely to identify a higher proportion of newly diagnosed patients.

Case Reports
Rhabdomyolysis in a patient with end-stage renal disease and SARS-CoV-2 infection: A case report.
Rhabdomyolysis can be an uncommon complication of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection. However, the diagnosis of rhabdomyolysis could be easily missed due to its atypical clinical presentations. We present a patient with a history of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) who contracted COVID-19 and subsequently developed rhabdomyolysis. We discuss and share our experience in the management of this patient. ⋯ COVID-19 infection can cause muscle pain and fatigue, which can mask the symptoms of rhabdomyolysis. A missed diagnosis of rhabdomyolysis can be severe, especially in patients with ESRD. The serum CK level should be tested with clinical suspicion. Appropriate management, including adequate hydration and electrolyte balance, should be provided. Continuous renal replacement therapy should be considered in affected patients with renal insufficiency.

Knowledge, attitudes and practices of Moroccan cancer patients and their relatives towards the COVID-19 pandemic.
This study aims to describe the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of cancer patients and their relatives regarding the COVID-19 pandemic in Morocco. ⋯ Although the level of knowledge and practices of cancer patients and relatives was very satisfying, disparities between the two groups were still to be noted. Cancer patients go out less and practice more, despite the impact of confinement on their health.
