To report the clinical and radiological outcomes of arthroscopic bone grafting and percutaneous K-wire fixation without radial styloidectomy in patients with scaphoid nonunion advanced collapse (SNAC). We retrospectively analyzed the records of 15 patients with SNAC who were treated with arthroscopic bone grafting and percutaneous K-wire fixation and subsequently followed up for a minimum of 1 year between November 2009 and March 2018. The clinical outcomes were evaluated by comparing the range of motion (ROM), grip strength, the modified Mayo Wrist Score, and visual analog scale (VAS) scores for pain, all of which were measured preoperatively and at the last follow-up. ⋯ The mean SL angle was significantly corrected (P = .01). Arthroscopic bone grafting and percutaneous Kerschner (K)-wire fixation without radial styloidectomy are considered to be very effective methods for correcting scaphoid deformities to treat SNAC stage I. However, caution may be needed during the surgery to prevent reductions in flexion and the radial deviation of the wrist.

Cardiac arrest due to thyroid storm is a very rare clinical feature with high mortality that presents as multiorgan dysfunction. The mortality rate under this condition is close to 30%, even with appropriate treatment. Most thyroid storms occur in patients with long-standing untreated hyperthyroidism. ⋯ Diagnosis of a thyroid storm in patients with multiple trauma is very difficult, because most trauma patients have symptoms of tachycardia, altered mental status, and abdominal pain that appear in thyrotoxic events. However, when unexplained shock without bleeding evidence occurs in patients with multiple trauma, a thyroid function test should be performed to rule out thyroid storm. Moreover, if hyperthyroidism is observed in a trauma patient, even if there is no history of hyperthyroidism, the possibility of a thyroid storm must be considered along with medical support treatment such as ECMO in patient with cardiogenic shock.

Osteoarthritis is a common degenerative disease with a high incidence, high disability rate, and poor prognosis. Clinical studies have shown that Bushen Huoxue formula can relieve joint swelling and pain and improve limb function and joint mobility, but there is a lack of high-quality scientific basis. Using network pharmacology and molecular docking technology to study the mechanism of Bushen Huoxue formula in the treatment of osteoarthritis. ⋯ This study shows that the treatment of osteoarthritis involves multicomponent, multitarget, and multipathway processes. The mechanism of anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, inhibition of cartilage matrix degradation, and reduction of subchondral bone destruction may be an important mechanism for the therapeutic effect.

Efficacy and safety of thread embedding acupuncture for knee osteoarthritis: A randomized controlled pilot trial.
Thread embedding acupuncture (TEA) is a widely used clinical procedure for the treatment of musculoskeletal pain. However, few clinical studies have been conducted on the efficacy and safety of TEA for knee osteoarthritis (KOA), and data from randomized controlled trials are lacking. This randomized controlled pilot study aimed to assess the feasibility of conducting large-scale studies on the efficacy and safety of TEA for KOA. ⋯ This pilot study suggests that TEA is a safe and effective procedure for relieving pain in patients with KOA. The results of this study provide basic data and indicate the feasibility of large-scale clinical studies to evaluate the efficacy and safety of TEA for KOA.
