Associations between attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and chronic pain disorders, such as fibromyalgia, have been reported. However, associations between persistent chronic nonspecific low back pain (CNLBP) and ADHD have not yet been investigated. ⋯ Our findings revealed that the subscale scores on an ADHD scale were considerably high in patients with persistent CNLBP. As a previous study of our clinical experience indicates that persistent CNLBP can be substantially relieved by administering ADHD medications, ADHD screening is warranted in the treatment of persistent CNLBP.

Case ReportsPainless Posterior Scleritis: A Rare Presentation.
Posterior scleritis is an underdiagnosed condition due to its rarity and is frequently misdiagnosed due to its varied presentation.1 Therefore, it is imperative to know that it can present clinically as exudative retinal detachment, proptosis, disc oedema, choroidal folds, subretinal mass, and myositis. We report a case of 48-year female who presented with gradual, progressive loss of vision in left eye. There were multiple exudative retinal detachments with choroidal folds and disc oedema. ⋯ With oral steroids, she improved clinically. Posterior scleritis is a painful condition, but the patient did not report any pain in or around the globe, which makes this case a unique experience. Key Words: Posterior scleritis, Exudative retinal detachment, T-sign.

Efficacy of modified pressure cuff for thrombolytic treatment on lower extremity deep venous thrombosis.
To compare the effectiveness and patient comfort between two methods that block superficial venous blood flow during the thrombolytic treatment of lower extremity deep venous thrombosis (DVT) to provide evidence that informs clinical choice. One hundred twenty patients with lower extremity DVT were randomly divided into sphygmomanometer (group A, n = 40), tourniquet (group B, n = 40), and control group (no blocking, n = 40). All the patients were treated with a daily dosage of urokinase using a dial sphygmomanometer cuff and tourniquet to block lower extremity superficial vein blood flow. ⋯ The leg pain scores of group A were lower than those of group B and control group. The postoperative comfort ratio of group A was higher than that of group B, and the proportion of severe discomfort in group A was lower than that in group B. Compared with the tourniquet, using a dial sphygmomanometer cuff to block lower extremity superficial vein blood flow achieved a better thrombolytic effect on DVT and provided higher patient comfort during treatment.

Gastric ulcer (GU) is a common digestive system disease, and the main clinical manifestations are nausea and epigastric pain. In recent years, due to increased life pressure, unhealthy eating habits and environment, the incidence of gastric ulcer has increased year by year. Because the disease has a long treatment cycle and is prone to relapse, if it cannot be controlled in time, it can cause the disease to prolong, affect the daily life and health of the patient, and even cause complications such as upper gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcer perforation, and pyloric obstruction. Helicobacter pylori infection is one of the main causes of GU. Clinically, the curative effect of western medicine or traditional Chinese medicine cannot reach the ideal level, so in recent years, the combination of traditional Chinese and western medicine has been highly praised. The aim of this systematic review is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of Chinese medicine combined with omeprazole for GU. ⋯ The efficacy and safety of Chinese medicine combined with omeprazole for the treatment of GU will be evaluated, and the conclusion will be published to provide medical evidence for a better clinical decision of patients with GU.

Neck pain is common musculoskeletal disorders in adult population. Acupuncture treatment has been widely used for treating neck pain. Nevertheless, previous systematic reviews (SRs) on acupuncture for neck pain remain controversial, and there is no SR for the comparative efficacy and safety of various types of acupuncture. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate and rank the effectiveness and safety of different types of acupuncture for neck pain by SR and network meta-analysis. ⋯ Our study will evaluate and compare the effectiveness of various types of acupuncture for neck pain and provide clinicians with best option for what types of acupuncture treatments are effective.
