To investigate the predictive value of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) H19 and the ten-eleven translocation enzyme 1 (TET1) transcriptional expression in postoperative recurrence of uterine fibroids (UFs). ⋯ The lncRNA H19 and TET1 have high diagnostic and predictive efficacy for determining the postoperative recurrence of UFs.

Extracellular vesicle microRNAs (EV-miRNAs) have been demonstrated to be reliable candidate biomarkers for clinical applications. However, the clinical application potential of serum EV-miR-215-5p for gastric cancer (GC) remains poorly understood. The goal of our study was to determine the efficacy of serum EV-miR-215-5p in predicting the prognosis of GC. ⋯ Serum EV-miR-215-5p might be a novel biomarker for predicting ETR and prognosis of GC.

Case ReportsCOVID-19-related Posterior Reversible Encephalopathy Syndrome in an Adult ICU Patient in Ireland.
Radiologically confirmed, novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)-related neurological manifestations are being reported with increasing frequency since the outbreak of the disease. We describe a 54-year-old male with COVID-19, who demonstrated radiological and clinical findings of posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome(PRES). The proposed mechanism suggested for COVID-19-related PRES is a disease induced inflammatory storm, which causes endothelial injury, resulting in endothelialdysfunction (ED), interstitial fluid extravasation and cerebral edema. Key Words: COVID-19, Encephalopathy, Neurological complications, PRES.

Case ReportsVitamin D (Cholecalciferol) with Low Dose Vitamin C as a Safe and Effective Therapeutic Modality in an Adult with COVID-19 Pneumonia.
This is a case of an elderly female presenting with fever, cough and shortness of breath. On presentation, she had tachypnea and an oxygen requirement of 2 liters through nasal prongs. Her investigations were suggestive of COVID-19 pneumonia with bilateral ground-glass appearance on chest X-ray and a positive nasopharyngeal PCR swab. ⋯ On day 3, her symptoms completely resolved, and her chest X-ray improved. In patients with COVID-19 pneumonia, who are vitamin D deficient, administration of large doses of cholecalciferol for few days can be a safe option to treat mild to moderate COVID-19 pneumonia. Key Words: Vitamin D, COVID-19, Pneumonia, Vitamin C.
