Developmental assessments for each child were conducted, including anthropometric measurements and ability developments using the Denver developmental screening test.ResultsThe body mass index of children was significantly lower in polycystic ovary syndrome group than control group (p=0.022). Children of mothers with polycystic ovary syndrome and control group had no significant differences in the outcomes of the Denver developmental screening test (all p >0.05).ConclusionMaternal polycystic ovary syndrome may affect body mass index of offspring aged 1-2 years and had no negative effects on neurologic development. However, this conclusion may be limited due to the small sample size. Key Words: Neurologic development, Polycystic ovary syndrome, Offspring, Denver development screening test, Body mass index.
