IntroductionTo investigate shared gene signatures between COVID-19 and ischemic stroke.MethodsCombining the existing bulk RNA sequencing and single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) data for COVID-19 to obtain a more comprehensive understanding of the role of dysregulated metabolism.ResultsA total of 19 up-regulated differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and 24 down-regulated genes were selected for subsequent analyses. Nine genes were finally identified with the machine learning method as a potential diagnostic model in both ischemic stroke and COVID-19. In addition, the hub genes were related to both immune infiltration and metabolic pathways.ConclusionsOur study revealed the common molecular profile of COVID-19 and ischemic stroke.Copyright: © 2023 Termedia & Banach.
