Prevalence of genitourinary infection in diabetic patients treated with SGLT 2 inhibitors.
Genitourinary infections are common in Diabetes patients compared to the general population more so in patients with Sodium glucose co transporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) treatment , So, we did a study to find the prevalence of genitourinary infection in T2DM patients treated with SGLT2i. ⋯ We need to counsel the patients before starting SGLT2i regarding possible chance of getting genitourinary infection, proper genital hygiene, drinking plenty of water and consulting the doctor if any symptoms at the earliest.

Examining the maternal health services-seeking behaviour among adolescent urban refugees in Kampala, Uganda.
Reproductive health is a key concern during crisis situations and improving maternal health is crucial. In Uganda, refugees living in urban areas are expected to be self-reliant and this makes the adolescents who get pregnant vulnerable. ⋯ The urban refugee adolescents who get pregnant face several challenges to utilize maternal health services. Increased funding, favourable policies and programs are needed to support these girls to access comprehensive maternal health services because they face multiple vulnerabilities.

Nearly 99% of neonatal deaths globally occur in low- and middle-income countries with about three-quarters of the neonatal deaths resulting from sepsis including those arising from cord infections. Thus, good cord care practices have the potential to reduce the neonatal deaths in low and middle-income countries such as Kenya. ⋯ Although mothers predominantly practiced the recommended cord care, some potentially deleterious practices were reported. There is need to encourage attendance to antenatal clinic in order to optimize umbilical cord care practices.

Low frequency of knockdown resistance mutation (L1014F) and the efficacy of PBO synergist in multiple insecticide-resistant populations of Anopheles gambiae in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria.
We evaluated the susceptibility status of Anopheles gambiae in two communities of Ikorodu, Lagos, Nigeria to DDT, deltamethrin, lambda cyhalothrin and bendiocarb. ⋯ Results from this study indicates that the metabolic resistance mechanism is highly implicated in the resistance to different classes of insecticide in Ikorodu and this should be taken into consideration when implementing vector control activities in this area.

Comparative study of antipyretic potency of extracts of morinda lucida leaves and fruits of capsicum frutescens in albino rats.
Morinda lucida leaves and fruits of Capsicum frutescens are used locally in the management of fever in Nigeria. No scientific credence has been lent to this claim. ⋯ Morinda lucida leaves and fruits of Capsicum frutescens exhibit dose-dependent antipyretic activities.
