Prevalence of hepatitis-B virus co-infection among people living with HIV in Mthatha region of South Africa.
Hepatitis-B virus (HBV) co-infection among people living with HIV (PLWH) is highly endemic in South Africa. Despite the availability of an effective vaccine for the last four decades, chronic HBV infection is a major cause of morbidity and mortality among PLWH. Although the incidence of most opportunistic infections has been reduced in individuals with HIV since the implementation of the universal test and treat program in South Africa, HBV co-infection among PLWH is still accounting for high morbidity and mortality. ⋯ There is a high prevalence of HBV co-infection among PLWH in the Mthatha region of South Africa. The high prevalence of HBV co-infection indicates the need for routine screening for hepatitis B among PLWH in South Africa.

Case control study of CD4 cell count and some haematological parameters among hepatitis and non-hepatitis B patients in Oyo State, South-west, Nigeria.
Hepatitis B virus HBV infection is a major cause of chronic liver disease worldwide. CD4 count and haematological parameters (HPs) could be used to monitor the health status of hepatitis B (HB) individuals. This study aimed at assessing levels of CD4 count and some HPs among sufferers of HB patients and controls. ⋯ There were no significant differences between the values of the CD4 count and hematological parameters among HB subjects in this study. There is need for future studies to detect changes in CD4 count and other HPs in HB patients to increase options of screening for immunological changes during management.

Investigation of antiviral substances in Covid 19 by Molecular Docking: In Silico Study.
This paper aimed to investigate the antiviral drugs against Sars-Cov-2 main protease (MPro) using in silico methods. ⋯ Bictegravir, remdevisir and lopinavir drugs showed very good results compared to the N3 inhibitor. Therefore, they could be inhibitory in the Sars Cov-2 Mpro target.

Human herpesvirus-8 infection in Tunisian adult acute leukemia patients.
Human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8) has been linked to the development of Kaposi's sarcoma (KS)and multiple other hematologic malignant disorders. However, the role of HHV-8 in acute leukemia patients is unknown. ⋯ The seroprevalence of HHV-8 infection in Tunisian adult acute leukemia patients was three times as high compared to healthy blood donors, suggesting that patients with acute leukemia might be at increased risk of HHV-8 infection.

Attitudes and usage of visual-aids in graduate student learning of gross anatomy at Makerere University.
The increasing numbers of students studying human anatomy at Makerere University are beginning to overwhelm available resources, which presents challenges in learning and necessitates an evaluation of alternative ways to enhance anatomy learning. The increasing numbers of students overwhelm resources available and presents challenges in learning. This necessitates an evaluation of alternatives to enhance gross anatomy learning at Makerere University College of Health Sciences. The study aimed to assess the usage of visual aids and generate necessary information to enhance learning. ⋯ Graduate students in the Department of Anatomy at MakCHS are using non-traditional methods to supplement their learning. However, there are several challenges to accessing digital resources. There is a need to support students with accessing visual aids through integrating newer teaching modalities and modern technology to promote interest and retention of anatomical knowledge.
