Prevalence of acute kidney injury and its characteristics among neonates with suspected sepsis in a tertiary hospital in Kenya.
Unique aspects of neonatal renal physiology enhance the occurrence of Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) as a complication of neonatal sepsis. The study sought to determine prevalence of AKI and its characteristics in neonates with suspected sepsis. ⋯ Prevalence of AKI was high; those with suspected late onset sepsis were more likely to develop AKI compared to early onset sepsis. Presence of maternal fever preceding delivery and presence of either puerperal sepsis or postpartum hemorrhage were associated with severe forms of AKI.

Clinicopathological, immunohistochemical, molecular-genetic and risk profiles of gastrointestinal stromal tumors in a cohort of Sudanese patients.
Determining the risk of malignant behaviour and mutational status of gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GISTs) guide the management decision and allow optimal individualized patient treatment. ⋯ Sudanese patients with GIST tend to present late. Nearly half of them correspond to the malignant/high-risk category. The frequency of KIT mutations (79.31%) is in line with the literature.

Experiences of mental health problems vulnerability, psychological symptoms and coping mechanisms of displaced adolescents in North-east Nigeria.

Psychosocial support for these adolescents is recommended.
