Asthma PostersSESSION TYPE: Poster PresentationsPRESENTED ON: Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 01:15 PM - 02:15 PMPURPOSE: EBT is being researched as a biomarker for airway inflammation in Asthma with increased plateau temperature indicating exacerbation in asthmatics. But seasonal variation in plateau temperature and its slope in not reported. Aim of the study was to assess the seasonal variation in the kinetics of EBT in stable North Indian asthmatics where extremes of temperature exist between peak summers and winters. ⋯ The following authors have nothing to disclose: Mayuri Johari, Pallavi Periwal, Deepak TalwarNo Product/Research Disclosure Information.

Critical CareSESSION TYPE: Slide PresentationPRESENTED ON: Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 04:15 PM - 05:15 PMPURPOSE: This QI intervention is aimed at reducing delirium, increasing implementation of goal directed sedation and improving patient's functional status by early physical therapy (PT) in CCU. Based on current data, this can effectively decrease delirium and neuromuscular deconditioning in intensive care patients. Our goals are to: 1) Increase delirium recognition by consistent implementation of Confusion Assessment Measurement (CAM-ICU), 2) reduce deep sedation by goal directed sedation protocols, 3)improve patients' functional mobility by increasing the number and earlier timing of PT treatments. ⋯ The following authors have nothing to disclose: Jasleen Pannu, Sarah Lee, Dereddi Raja Reddy, Pramod Guru, Mazen Al-Qadi, Bernardo SelimNo Product/Research Disclosure Information.

Critical Care Posters ISESSION TYPE: Poster PresentationsPRESENTED ON: Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 01:15 PM - 02:15 PMINTRODUCTION: Cardiac arrest patients are often admitted to CCU/MICU depending on academic setting. We aimed to compare outcomes of cardiac arrest patients based on demographics of the patients admitted to CCU Vs MICU. We also tried to identify role of hypothermia in different type underlying arrest rhythms ⋯ Patients admitted to CCU had better survival rate, home returning rate, less LOS and Ventilator dependent day. The majority of the patients admitted to CCU had Vfib as underlying rhythm compared to PEA/Asystole in MICU patients. Greatest benefit of therapeutic hypothermia was seen in patients with Vfib than PEA/Asystole, with inverse survival relationship noticed if presenting rhythm was asystole.Reference #1: Circulation. 2003; 108: 118-121DISCLOSURE: The following authors have nothing to disclose: Parth Rali, Win NaingNo Product/Research Disclosure Information.
