Sacituzumab govitecan (SG) is an antibody-drug conjugate that targets the human trophoblast cell-surface antigen 2 to deliver SN-38 to cancer cells. In this study, we assessed the efficacy and safety of SG in patients with relapsed or refractory metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (RM-TNBC). ⋯ SG was associated with effectiveness in patients with RM-TNBC. Myelosuppression and diarrhea were the primary treatment-related adverse events.

To explore the differences in postoperative knee joint function and prognostic quality of life in patients undergoing posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) reconstruction at different timing of surgery under the enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocol. A total of 266 cases of PCL injury admitted to our hospital between March 2019 and October 2022 were included in this retrospective study and divided them into a short-term group (147 cases with PCL reconstruction completed within 3 weeks after injury) and a long-term group (119 cases with PCL reconstruction performed 3 weeks after injury) according to the timing of surgery after injury. All patients received ERAS care during treatment. ⋯ A similar complication rate was also determined in the 2 groups (P > .05), but the Short-Form 36 Item Health Survey scores were significantly higher in the short-term group (P < .05). Self-rating Anxiety Scale and Self-rating Depression Scale in both groups decreased after treatment (P < .05), and no statistical difference was determined in nursing satisfaction (P = 198). PCL reconstruction within 3 weeks after PCL injury is more conducive to the recovery of patients' knee joint function, and the ERAS protocol can more effectively improve the therapeutic effect of patients.

Heterotopic gastric mucosa (HGM) can occur in all segments of the gastrointestinal tract, but rectal is very rare. In recent years, rectal HGM is more often treated by endoscopic resection (ER). ⋯ Rectal HGM has acid secretion function and HP can be colonized, causing a variety of symptoms such as abdominal pain, bloody stool, and anal pain and has the potential risk of malignant transformation; resection is the best treatment method, and ESD has its unique advantages and can be promoted in the clinic.

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted disparities in outcomes by social determinants to health. It is unclear how much end-of-life discussions and a patient's decision about code status ("do not resuscitate," do not resuscitate, or "comfort measures only," [CMO] orders) might contribute to in hospital disparities in care, especially given know racial inequities in end-of-life care. Here, we looked at factors associated with code status orders at the end of hospitalization for patients with COVID-19. ⋯ Additionally, we found that patients with white race (OR 2.9; P = .02) were more likely to carry a CMO order. Patient race and ADI were associated with different code status orders at the end of hospitalization. Differences in code status might have contributed to disparities in COVID-19 outcomes early in the pandemic, though further investigations are warranted.

To analyze and compare the clinicopathological characteristics of male breast cancer (MBC) among Chinese patients and those from East Asia and other regions. Clinicopathological data from 3 kinds of data sources, including 31 MBC patients in Jiangsu Provincial Hospital (JPH) from 2014 to 2021 in China, 20 literature data on East Asian MBC patients from 2014 to 2021, and 3102 MBC patients registered in the surveillance, epidemiology, and end results (SEER) database from 2014 to 2019, were collected and retrospectively analyzed. The average ages of first-diagnosis MBC patients in JPH and East Asian patients were 59.7 and 62.3 years old, respectively, which were younger than those of SEER patients (66.5 years old). ⋯ JPH and East Asian MBC patients were younger than SEER patients. Between East Asian and SEER patients, the status of the main breast cancer type, estrogen receptor, progesterone receptor, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2, breast subtype, and TNM stage were similar, but there were differences in chemotherapy, surgery, pathological grade, and lymph node positivity. The findings of this study should prove to be helpful to deepen our understanding of East Asian MBC.
