Low molecular weight 35 kDa hyaluronan fragment HA35 in the treatment of bone metastasis pain: A case report.
Late-stage cancer patients often experience severe pain due to bone metastasis, caused by structural damage and cancer-induced inflammation. Hyaluronan, known to alleviate pain by blocking the TRVP1 calcium channel, faces limitations due to its high molecular weight. However, 35 kDa low molecular weight hyaluronan fragment (HA35) have shown promise in relieving various pains, including cancer-related pain. Nonetheless, evidence regarding their efficacy in bone metastasis pain remains scarce. ⋯ Subcutaneous injection of HA35 into the abdominal fat tissue effectively alleviates pain in cancer and bone metastasis patients resistant to conventional treatments. Additionally, it helps alleviate anxiety and fatigue, and improves diet and sleep, thereby offering crucial palliative care for advanced cancer patients.

A novel mutation in the ATP7B gene causing hepatolenticular degeneration in a Chinese family: A case report.
Hepatolenticular degeneration (Wilson disease) is an autosomal recessive monogenic disorder caused by mutations in the ATPase copper transporting beta (ATP7B) gene located on human chromosome 13. This gene encodes a copper-transporting P-type ATPase (ATP7B). Recent studies have revealed that the ATP7B gene is predominantly affected by a few hotspot mutations, with the His1069Gln mutation in exon 14 accounting for 50 to 80% of cases. In China, the Arg778Leu mutation in exon 8 is the most prevalent. However, the discovery of novel mutant genes persists. ⋯ We identified a novel c.3715G > T (p.Val1239Phe) variant mutation in the ATP7B gene in the patient. The ATP7B c.3715G > T (p.Val1239Phe) variant is predicted to impact the copper transport P-type ATPase. When combined with another mutant gene to form a compound heterozygous mutation, it can lead to hepatolenticular degeneration. This discovery broadens the range of pathogenic genes in the ATP7B gene.

Lung adenocarcinoma may resemble the clinical presentation of an infectious or inflammatory lung disease. The coexistence of lung cancer, and polyserous effusions is uncommon, which may cause a diagnostic challenge. However, any polyserous effusions at a young age must always be suspicious for malignancy. ⋯ Our case highlights the diagnostic challenges posed by atypical presentations of lung adenocarcinoma and emphasizes the importance of considering malignancy in the differential diagnosis of polyserous effusions, even when initial cytology results are negative. Clarifying the rationale for this study enhances its relevance and impact.

A case report of interstitial pneumonia induced by vedolizumab in a patient with ulcerative colitis.
The interstitial pneumonia (IP) linked to vedolizumab (VDZ) in patients with ulcerative colitis (UC) is rare. Prompt diagnosis and treatment can improve patient outcomes. ⋯ VDZ-induced IP should be considered when evaluating pulmonary infections in UC patients treated with VDZ.

This study aims to comprehensively examine the academic development of shoulder dystocia (SD) through bibliometric and document analysis and to identify topics that can guide future research. ⋯ Shoulder dystocia remains a critical component of obstetric practice. Themes such as training and simulation, risk factors, and technical and management approaches are consistently emphasized. Technological advances and studies on how machine learning techniques can be used effectively in this field reflect innovative approaches in the scientific literature. This analysis confirms that shoulder dystocia is a complex topic requiring a multidisciplinary approach and that research in this field is constantly evolving.
