Enhancing treatment of lumbar disc herniation with Erxian decoction and auricular acupoint pressure: A randomized controlled trial.
The incidence of lumbar disc herniation (LDH) is on the rise annually, with an emerging trend of affecting younger age groups. This study aims to investigate the clinical effectiveness of combining Erxian decoction with auricular acupoint pressure therapy in treating LDH. Our objective is to furnish evidence supporting the incorporation of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) rehabilitation techniques in clinical settings. ⋯ Compared to conventional rehabilitation therapy, the combination of Erxian decoction and auricular acupoint pressure therapy demonstrates clear benefits in alleviating symptoms in patients with LDH. This approach offers fresh perspectives and substantiates evidence for future treatment strategies in managing LDH.

Kisspeptin expression levels in patients with placenta previa: A randomized trial.
This study aimed to explore the potential influence of kisspeptin (KISS1) levels on the etiology of placenta previa for early pregnancy diagnosis. ⋯ Results from biochemical, immunohistochemical, and genetic analyses consistently indicated significantly reduced KISS1 expression in patients with placenta previa. These findings suggest a potential link between diminished KISS1 levels and the occurrence of placenta previa. KISS1 may play a critical role in the etiology of placenta previa. Detailed studies on angiogenesis, cell migration and tissue modeling should be conducted to understand possible mechanisms.

Anterior quadratus lumborum block provided superior pain control and reduced opioid consumption in kidney transplantation: A randomized controlled trial.
The research aimed to assess the effectiveness of inside-out anterior quadratus lumborum (QL3) block and local wound infiltration in managing postoperative pain and total morphine dosage following kidney transplantation. ⋯ Ultrasound-assisted inside-out QL3 block significantly reduced postoperative pain levels at the 2nd and 4th hours, both at rest and during movement, and led to a reduction in cumulative morphine consumption from the 4th hour postoperatively, and persisting throughout the 24-hour period.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a risk factor for patients with impaired renal function. The onset of T2DM-induced diabetic kidney disease (DKD) is frequently sub-clinical, potentially culminating in end-stage renal disease. In the current study the factors influencing DKD in elderly patients diagnosed with T2DM were determined. ⋯ There was a significant linear relationship between the eGFR decline and TG level (P = .002). Patients with a TG concentration > 1.7 mmol/L had a more apparent decrease in the eGFR (P < .05). For elderly patients with T2DM and an eGFR < 90 mL/min/1.73m2, the TG level may be an important risk factor for deteriorating renal function that warrants actively intervention.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) infertility has attracted great attention from researchers due to its high incidence. Numerous studies have shown that Chinese medicine is effective in treating this disease, but there is a wide variety of Chinese medicine therapies available, and there is a lack of comparative evaluation of the efficacy of various Chinese medicine combination therapies in the clinic, which requires further in-depth exploration. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of a combined traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) therapy for the treatment of infertility with PCOS using network meta-analysis (NMA). ⋯ The combined TCM therapy demonstrated better efficacy for the treatment of infertility with PCOS compared to acupuncture, herbal, and western medicines monotherapy. However, the optimal treatment therapy varied depending on the outcome indicators. Further large sample, high-quality, and standardized RCTs are needed to verify these findings.
