How to determine the course of preoperative chemotherapy for spinal tuberculosis: A single-center clinical study.
This study aims to explore the clinical efficacy and feasibility of preoperative 1-week chemotherapy for patients with spinal tuberculosis (STB) undergoing complete lesion removal. Clinical data of 76 patients with STB who underwent complete focal debridement in our hospital were collected from June 2020 to September 2023. The patients were divided into 38 cases of preoperative 1-week chemotherapy group (Group A) according to the length of preoperative chemotherapy, and 38 cases of preoperative 2 to 4-week chemotherapy group (Group B). ⋯ The difference in incision healing rate at 3 months postoperatively and bone graft fusion rate at 6 months postoperatively was not statistically significant between the 2 groups (P > .05). The dissemination and recurrence of Mycobacterium tuberculosis were not statistically significantly different between the 2 groups after surgery (P > .05). In summary, with complete lesion clearance, 1 week of preoperative chemotherapy is feasible in patients with STB with varying degrees of neurological dysfunction.

Does T-tube indwelling prolong the procedure of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography for healing duct-to-duct anastomotic bile leakage after liver transplantation?
Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is the preferred treatment for duct-to-duct anastomotic bile leakage (D-D aBL) after liver transplantation (LT). This study aimed to compare the time required for ERCP and D-D aBL recovery in post-LT patients with and without T-tube drainage. ⋯ However, there was no significant difference in the time required for ERCP to result in D-D aBL healing between patients with T-tube drainage and those without T-tubes (33.4 vs 23.0 days). T-tube indwelling did not significantly prolong the course required for ERCP to resolve D-D aBL in post-LT patients.

Yinxing Mihuan Oral Solution (YMOS) is a Chinese patent medicine for treating coronary heart disease combined anxiety (CHDCA), but the molecular mechanism of its treatment is still unclear. This article aims to understand the molecular mechanism, optimize clinical drug use, and guide new drug development. Using the Swiss Target Prediction database, we obtained the main chemical composition of YMOS. ⋯ The potential molecular mechanisms of YMOS in CHDCA treatment were identified using network pharmacology and molecular docking approaches. The results reveal the systemic biological implications of YMOS. This study has systematically uncovered the molecular mechanism of YMOS for the first time, offering fresh insights for evidence-based clinical applications.

Ovarian cancer (OC) has a limited immunotherapeutic response; hence, this study aimed to investigate the relationship between CXC-chemokine ligand 13 (CXCL13) expression and overall survival (OS) rate, key immune pathways, degree of immune cell infiltration, and progressive disease (PD)-1 checkpoint blockade. A total of 703 differentially expressed genes were obtained from "The Cancer Genome Atlas" (TCGA) database based on the immune and stromal scores of 379 OC patients for getting the targeted gene CXCL13. The association between CXCL13 and OS in OC patients, biological function annotation of CXCL13, and its correlation with immune components were assessed. ⋯ CXCL13 expression was associated with 6 immune-related pathways, 10 immune cells, and PD-1 expression of OC micro-environment. Moreover, high expression of CXCL13 was related to a better tumor response and more extended tumor-stable stage after PD-1 blocking therapy in IMvigor210. The study concluded that CXCL13 could be a prognostic marker and a potential immunotherapy target for OC patients, especially PD-1 checkpoint blockade.

Correlation of exercise blood pressure levels with concomitant cardiovascular disease.
Hypertension is a fatal but preventable risk factor for cardiovascular disease and an important cause of death from cardiovascular disease. Exercise training has a definite clinical effect on blood pressure control. However, inappropriate exercise is ineffective and may also cause disease. ⋯ At the same time, the smoking rate and glycohemoglobin level of the patients with abnormal exercise blood pressure were significantly increased (all P < .05), but there was no statistically significant difference in age, sex, body mass index, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and other indicators between the 2 groups (all P > .05). Patients with abnormal exercise blood pressure response have a higher prevalence of hypertension and coronary heart disease. Exercise blood pressure level may be an important factor affecting patients' cardiovascular prognosis.
