In patients with mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS), the accumulation of glycosaminoglycans leads to various complications, including spinal cord compression (SCC). Although SCC is a well-known complication in MPS, data comparing its clinical features across different MPS types remain limited. This study aimed to investigate the timing, location, and underlying causes of SCC in MPS, as well as to compare the risk and clinical characteristics by MPS type. ⋯ Although there was no significant difference in the location of SCC (P = .99), the underlying causes varied significantly by MPS type (P < .001). SCC is a common complication in MPS, but its risk and pathophysiology vary by MPS type. Therefore, an individualized approach is needed for early detection and appropriate intervention.

Patient safety education for nursing students has recently garnered interest. However, there is a paucity of data on the key areas and global trends over time. This study aims to analyze research patterns in the field of patient safety education for nursing students, identifying key contributors and global trends. ⋯ Frequently occurring keywords included patient safety, education, medical education, simulation training, and standardized patients. This study provides valuable insights into the global research landscape of patient safety education in nursing, highlighting key contributors and trends. These findings can assist nursing students, educators, and researchers in identifying potential collaborators and informing future research to advance patient safety education in nursing.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a complicated endocrine and metabolic syndrome with unclear pathogenesis. The gut microbiota sheds light on the etiology and pathophysiology of PCOS. We used Mendelian randomization (MR) studies to systematically evaluate the pathological mechanism gut microbiota causally associated with PCOS risk. ⋯ Further, Phenowide-MR analyses showed that the protective effects of Sellimonas on type 2 diabetes and depression (for type 2 diabetes: OR = 0.95, 95% CI: 0.90-0.99, P = .0366; for depression: OR = 0.99, 95% CI: 0.98-1.00, P = .0210). We summarized that the causal path between gut microbiota and type 2 diabetes are also jointly mediated by BMI. Sellimonas may be a protective factor of PCOS, which can affect the occurrence of PCOS through BMI, supporting future studies on the importance of addressing obesity and metabolic issues in preventing and managing PCOS.

Many previous observational studies have disputed whether there is a link between uric acid and stroke. And the causal relationship between uric acid and stroke is unclear. To determine whether there is a causal relationship between uric acid and stroke by using mendelian randomization (MR). ⋯ MR-Egger and weighted median model also showed the same result. In addition, the results of this study were robust without heterogeneity and pleiotropy. This MR study suggests no support of a causal relationship between uric acid and stroke.

Impact analysis of the driver's license-type scoring system in the quality management of hospital medical records: An observational study.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of implementing a driver's license-type scoring system on the quality management of hospital medical records. We collected relevant medical record quality control data before (from April to November 2021) and after (from April to November 2022) the use of the driver's license-type scoring management in the medical record quality management of a Grade-A tertiary general hospital in a prefecture-level city ("R Hospital" for short). ⋯ Compared with before the implementation of the new system, the filling rate of discharge medical records within 2 days, logical rate of day diagnosis and treatment medical records, logical rate of day surgery medical records, and clinical tumor-node-metastasis staging evaluation rate before tumor treatment significantly increased, and the difference was statistically significant (P < .05); the rate of errors or omissions on the first page of inpatient medical records significantly decreased, and the difference between before and after implementation of the new system was statistically significant (P < .05). We found that the driver's license-type scoring management adapted for use in the quality management of hospital medical records was effective in regulating the medical record writing behavior of physicians and improved the quality of medical records, thus meriting wide promotion.
