Effect of needle types and diameters using in spinal anesthesia on optic nerve sheath diameter: Prospective randomized study.
This prospective randomized study aimed to investigate the impact of needle types and diameters used in spinal anesthesia (SA) on optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) in patients undergoing lower extremity orthopedic surgery. ⋯ In conclusion, our study suggests that while subarachnoid injection and tourniquet inflation do not impact intracranial pressure (ICP), tourniquet deflation leads to an increase in ICP during lower limb surgery under SA. Therefore, caution should be exercised when using a tourniquet in patients at risk of elevated ICP.

Optimal timeframe for achieving biochemical remission in Crohn's disease patients treated with first-line biologics: A retrospective multicenter study.
Predicting treatment response in Crohn's disease (CD) patients initiating biological therapy is crucial. The first step involves considering symptom control and normalization of C-reactive protein (CRP). However, data on the actual rates of achieving CRP normalization and the appropriate timeframe are lacking. ⋯ The duration of CRP normalization correlates with drug discontinuation (area under the curve: 0.64). Treatment with 5-aminosalicylic acid (HR 2.77; 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.26-6.11) and high albumin level (HR 1.64, 95% CI 1.04-2.61) favored early CRP normalization, whereas structuring behavior less likely than inflammatory behavior (HR 0.43, 95% CI 0.19-0.96). We have provided the actual rate of achieving CRP normalization and its appropriate timeframe as an initial target in CD treatment.

Influence of nursing intervention on patients with recurrent bacterial vaginosis treated with sucrose gel.
Bacterial vaginosis significantly affects gynecological health of women, and recurrence is common with a high prevalence in patients who received sucrose gel treatment. Evidence has found that nursing intervention has benefits in improving the rate of recurrence of gynecological diseases. The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of nursing intervention on patients with recurrent bacterial vaginosis treated with sucrose gel. ⋯ In conclusion, the data in this study indicate that the nursing intervention improves recurrent bacterial vaginosis and the quality of life of patients treated with sucrose gel.

The application effect of a pulmonary rehabilitation program based on empowerment theory for patients with COPD combined with heart failure.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and heart failure are often coexisting conditions that can severely impact patients' cardiopulmonary function and quality of life. Pulmonary rehabilitation programs, particularly those based on empowerment theory, may improve clinical outcomes by enhancing self-efficacy and promoting patient engagement. ⋯ An empowerment-based pulmonary rehabilitation program effectively improves rehabilitation compliance, lung and heart function, and self-efficacy in COPD patients with heart failure, suggesting it has strong potential for clinical application.

Efficacy of radial incision combined with tunnel floating line drainage in the treatment of high posterior horseshoe anal fistula and perianal flora: Randomized control trial.
Due to the high prevalence of posterior horseshoe anal fistula and causing numerous complications, this study aimed to investigate the clinical effect of radial incision combined with tunnel floating line drainage (RCTD) and arc incision internal drainage in the treatment of the disease and the influence on perianal flora. ⋯ RCTD can be the best choice for patients with high posterior horseshoe anal fistula. This operation method has the advantages of short operation time, less trauma, fewer complications, fast recovery of anal function, and can also reduce perianal pathogenic bacteria infection.
