Social inequalities in clustering of oral health related behaviors in a national sample of British adults.
1. To assess clustering of oral health related behaviors among a sample of British adults. 2. To determine the variation in clustering of oral health related behaviors by socioeconomic position. ⋯ Very clear and strong educational gradients were observed throughout patterns of clustering of oral health compromising behaviors, suggesting chances of having detrimental behavioral clustering are lower in more educated groups in population.

Meta AnalysisGamma-glutamyltransferase is associated with cardiovascular and all-cause mortality: a meta-analysis of prospective cohort studies.
The purpose of the present study was to investigate whether gamma-glutamyltransferase (GGT) is an independent predictor for future cardiovascular (CV) and all-cause mortality with prospective observational studies by meta-analysis. ⋯ GGT is an independent predictor for future CV mortality and all-cause mortality, and might be independent of alcohol intake.

Perceptions of health risk among parents of overweight children: a cross-sectional study within a cohort.
To identify the socio-demographic and behavioural characteristics associated with perceptions of weight-related health risk among the parents of overweight children. ⋯ Parents that recognise their child's overweight status, and the parents of obese and older children, are more likely to perceive a risk. However, many parents that acknowledge their child is overweight do not perceive a related health risk.

Improvement in iodine status of pregnant Australian women 3 years after introduction of a mandatory iodine fortification programme.
In order to address population-level mild iodine deficiency in Australia, a mandatory iodine fortification programme of salt used in bread was introduced in late 2009. ⋯ Iodine status of women has improved since the introduction of mandatory iodine fortification; however supplementation is indicated during pregnancy.
