The cross-sectional associations of chronic conditions and disability with self-reported physical activity among adults in England.
Using cross-sectional data from the 2018 Health Survey for England, this study describes the types of impairment reported by people with chronic conditions and the association of chronic conditions and impairments with physical activity(PA). ⋯ Future PA research requires consideration of the number and types of impairments that individuals experience, as well as assessing chronic conditions. This will improve understanding of the barriers to PA participation and inform interventions.

Understanding the dynamics of the obesity transition associated with physical activity, sedentary lifestyle, and consumption of ultra-processed foods in Colombia.
We investigate the obesity transition at the country- and regional-levels, by age, gender, and socioeconomic status (SES) and its relationship to three health behavior attributes, including physical activity (PA), sedentary activities (ST), and consumption of ultra-processed foods (CUPF) within the urban population of Colombia, from 20,010 to 2050. ⋯ The burden of obesity is shifting towards women with lower SES as GDP increases at the national level and across several regions. This obesity transition is paralleled by a high prevalence of women from low SES groups who do not meet the minimum recommendations for PA, CUPF, and ST. Our findings can be used by decision-makers to inform age- and SES- specific policies seeking to tackle the obesity.

Age at menarche and metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease: Evidence from a large population-based epidemiological study in Southwest China.
The relationship between age at menarche and metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease remains largely not clear. The objective of this study was to examine the association between age at menarche (AAM) and metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) in Chinese women and whether any observed associations were mediated by early adulthood adiposity. ⋯ The findings of this study suggest that obesity prevention strategies are needed from young adulthood in women who undergo early menarche to reduce the risk of MAFLD.

Independent and joint associations of aerobic and muscle-strengthening exercise with mental health in adolescents: A cross-sectional analysis before and during COVID-19 using the 2015-2021 National Youth Risk Behavior Survey.
COVID-19 led to social isolation that may have compromised adolescent mental health. This study examined the independent and joint associations of aerobic physical activity (PA) and muscle-strengthening exercise (MSE) with mental health problems in adolescents. ⋯ Meeting aerobic PA and MSE recommendations associated with lower prevalence of mental health problems. Participation in MSE below recommended levels may be beneficial for females when combined with aerobic PA. Future research should examine these associations by acquiring contextual information and device-based assessments.

Age-dependent interaction between life's essential 8 and chronic kidney disease: A national cross-sectional analysis.
Chronic kidney disease (CKD), an age-related condition, is closely associated with cardiovascular disease. We aimed to examine the age-dependent interaction between Life's Essential 8 (LE8), the updated measurement of cardiovascular health (CVH), and CKD in the United States. ⋯ CVH, as measured by the LE8 score, was negatively associated with the presence of CKD in non-linear fashions, more pronounced in participants aged 65 and older compared to younger age groups.
