Effectiveness of nutritional counseling with overweight pregnant women on child growth at 6 months: A randomized controlled trial.
Studies that have investigated the effect of nutritional counseling during the prenatal period on the follow-up outcomes of children at 6 mo have produced inconclusive results. The present study aimed to investigate the effect of nutritional counseling, based on the NOVA food classification, encouraging the consumption of fresh and minimally processed foods, with overweight adult pregnant women on infant growth at 6 mo of age. ⋯ There was no effect on infant growth at 6 mo of age after the nutritional counseling during pregnancy. Future studies are needed to confirm this hypothesis.

The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the nutritional status of women with stage I to III breast cancer in the first and third cycles of outpatient chemotherapy and to identify factors associated with it. ⋯ This study highlights the complex interaction between nutritional status, neuropsychological symptoms, and sociodemographic characteristics in breast cancer patients during chemotherapy, and underscores the need for personalized interventions to improve oncological care.

The potential role of dietary branched-chain amino acids on circulating branched-chain amino acid levels and their relationship with metabolic health are complex, and the literature is inconsistent. We aimed to explore the dynamic effects of branched-chain amino acid supplementation on glucose and lipid homeostasis at different stages of insulin resistance in high-fat diet-fed mice. ⋯ Dietary branched-chain amino acid supplementation drives dynamic changes in circulating branched-chain amino acid levels and gut microbiome without subsequent effects on glucose and lipid homeostasis in high-fat diet-induced obese mice within the parameters of our study.

Orthognathic surgery is a complex orofacial surgery that can significantly impact occlusal function and effect nutritional and quality of life parameters. This study aimed to evaluate alterations in dietary intake, chewing function, physical activity, and oral health-related quality of life of patients undergoing orthognathic surgery. ⋯ The findings indicate a temporary decline in nutritional intake and chewing ability with subsequent recovery by the third month postsurgery. These changes, along with the trends in oral health-related quality of life, underscore the need for tailored nutritional and functional rehabilitation programs following orthognathic surgery.

Sarcopenia, defined as decreased muscle mass and function, correlates with postoperative morbidity and mortality in cancer surgery. However, sarcopenia's impact specifically following robotic gastrectomy for gastric cancer has not been clearly defined. This study aimed to determine the influence of sarcopenia on short- and long-term clinical outcomes after robotic gastrectomy for gastric cancer. ⋯ Preoperative sarcopenia is correlated with increased postoperative complications and poorer long-term survival in gastric cancer patients undergoing robotic gastrectomy. Sarcopenia assessment can optimize preoperative risk stratification and perioperative management in this population.
